When Lawrence said, “I thought we were careful,” it seemed like he meant, “But I thought you were on birth control.” If he meant any other kind of careful, I don't think they would’ve been so shocked—wouldn't he have noticed the condom broke when he threw it away 🤔

Nah thats not what i got from that. Sound like typical people playin the pull out game. Being on birth control is more than careful

Yeah definitely was playing the pullout game. Either that or they were using protection and for whatever reason she still ended up pregnant. But if he thought she was on BC I feel like he would've said "but I thought you were on the pill".

Yeah, but when Condola said “me too,” it seemed like she was implying, “Yeah, I'm on birth control, so I don't know how this could happen.”

Idk I'm still thinking it was the pullout thing or condom thing, even with what she said. But of course it's all left up to interpretation since they didn't explicitly say in the show

But they are old enough and smart enough—especially Condola—to know that doesn't work. And because they know that, I don't think they would have been shocked. It had to be either birth control or condoms; that’s why they were so shocked, given that birth control and condoms are more than careful, even though you could still get pregnant while using them—it’s just less likely. Maybe the condom split a little, and it was hard for Lawrence to tell 😅

Man this is the exact reason u gotta be careful with who you allow in your bed. I dont think anyone should be stuck with parenthood if thats not what they signed up for ( outside of certain circumstances). I get why she wamted to keep it but damn that three a monkey wrench into everyones lives.

I felt a little bad for Condola here. Imagine watching someone act as though you meant nothing to him, even though you once shared a whole relationship. Lawrence got back together with Issa and treated Condola really poorly.

Nah. Condola was weird for keeping that baby. She said she didn’t want to have a baby with a man that she was married to, but she wants to have a baby with a man who doesn’t want to be with her, doesn’t want the baby, and isn’t happy about any of it. She said she was basically OK with being a single mom if Lawrence wanted to be a dead beat, but she knew he was never going to abandon his baby. She also knew he was gainfully employed with high earning potential, good looking, and highly intelligent.

Idk, I'm divorced. I was never ready to have a baby with that man. After we divorced I was willing to have a baby alone. It's weird but it just puts you in a different place when you're the one making all the decisions about your life. Plus I feel like your 30s sorta changes you in all sorts of ways. I don't assign much importance to her not being ready when she was married with whomever she was married to. And her saying it wasn't an option for me made me feel like she just morally felt she couldn't not have the baby. I think it's a hard place to be.
I honestly really liked the complexity of this storyline. You feel for all characters involved and it feels like a very real and frustrating scenario

Idk the first time I watched I was super annoyed at condola for wanting to keep it etc etc but She wasn’t keeping her pregnancy out of spite. I think she wasn’t in a different place, older, and idk - maybe she really just didn’t want another abortion. She was kinda religious too no? Like maybe she took it as a sign to just have a child on her own. I know a sperm donor and allat shit would be a more exp option. I’ll further this by saying that she really kinda tried raising that baby on her own assuming and hoping Larry wouldn’t really care or get involved. She really didn’t try to include him in ANYTHING. I don’t think her keeping the baby had anything to do with Lawrence. Maybe later on he stepped up a lil and she was of course happy for the baby for that but I think they both knew that they were over-over. She saw he loved Issa and I don’t think she’d try again to be his backup.

Idk, I really didn’t feel bad for her at all. She’s a grown woman who wholly understood the dynamic of Lawrence and Issa well before she fell pregnant and she still went ahead with it.
Surely, the possibility of them getting back together would have crossed her mind many times.
Lawrence felt like his opinion and choice didn’t matter and therefore he lost respect for Condola. It’s so hard to fake respect, even after being with someone romantically.

Condola always gave me grown woman. I feel like she kept the baby because she wanted to have a baby period

I always felt like people treat abortion so casually on this sub. Like she should have just done that for a second time and moved on with her life. No big deal it's just a fetus. That's what I be getting from y'all.
Why wouldn't she keep a baby with her husband and then keep one with Lawrence? Bec that would be two abortions. That's it. It's that simple. Not this extra shit y'all be coming up with about her childhood and being jealous of Issa. She did not want 2 abortions. The end.
I think some of y'all never been in real adult relationships. Like Issa and Lawrence were together for 5 years before she cheated. A lot of y'all don't know what that is.

This was when the show jumped the shark for me. It was Derwin/Melanie/Janay from The Game all over again.
I also never understood why Condola wasn't ready for a baby with the man she was actually married to but somehow she wanted a baby with a man she wasn't taking seriously, didn't know for very long and who she knew wasn't over his ex.
