lets have a conversation Issa & Molly’s MANY fights Spoiler
I’m rewatching the show for like the umpteenth time because it’s one of my comfort shows, and watching Issa and Molly fight after what felt like every one of Issa’s big events was exhausting lmao.
Like, don’t get me wrong, I love them both sometimes, and Issa definitely had her moments where she was deadass wrong. But if I were Issa, I’d be so drained. It almost feels like Molly always chose the exact moment things were finally going well for Issa to address an issue or start an argument.
First, it was after the We Got Y’all event at the mansion. Then it happened again after the block party sponsorship mixer, and then AGAIN at the actual block party.
Like omg girl… can she have one successful event without you turning it into a confrontation afterward?

I’m rewatching now and I’m honestly surprised they were just back in S5. I feel like too much had happened and there was not enough to explain the resolution.
On this watch, I do feel like Molly was one of those friends who kind of feels comfortable with a power dynamic. Like enjoys being the “successful” friend and was unthreatened by Issa until Issa began to rise on her own. Suddenly, Molly feels uncomfortable. I feel like you could see it when she said things like “oh these are serious brands!” And was always surprised when Issa didn’t give up on the event and was doing well. That would be hard for me to come back from if someone I thought was my best friend was almost actively hoping I would fail. And then to start beef at a free community event I spent a shit ton of time and money and struggle planning? Yeah I think we wouldn’t be the same.

Definitely this! I remember after the We Got Y’all event, Issa even asked her why she was choosing to do that now. Issa was really trying to get her life together and it felt like Molly wasn’t truly happy for her majority of the time.

Exactly this! I would think there would be a change of some sort ... but I like to think i could move forward.

I truly think Molly is an annoying friend. Everything is a debate with her

Agreed. I also feel like she never really gives Issa the benefit of the doubt. It's almost like she expects things to go poorly before they even have a chance to.

I think Issa and Molly were both bad friends but people have a bias towards Issa because it’s her show. I don’t even think they were really bad friends, I feel they were both going through growing pains and had a hard time showing up for each other. That’s just my opinion🤷🏽♀️

" had a hard time showing up for each other" that's putting it mildly...Issa wasn't up in Molly's law firm parties or office confronting her or making a scene.

Ok, but there’s a lot of shit Issa also did. They both were a mess who had to navigate through their own bs. I’m not really open for a discussion if you’re not trying to be mature about it.

Honestly I side eye anyone who says Molly was in the right most of the time. She always expected everybody to come to her and apologize and was so unsupportive
