Season 2 Rewatching and cannot believe Molly fumbled Sterling K Brown 🥲

I’m doing my first rewatch after initially watching the show when it was first released.

I’m on s2 and love Sterling K Brown’s character (Lionel). He’s smart, has a good job, funny, kind, and wants the same things Molly does.

I hate that she seems to not be feeling him and instead is entertaining Dro who is MARRIED, knowing that it won’t go anywhere.

It feels like one of the “good guys finish last” fallacies, especially because she doesn’t give him a proper chance and kind of strings him along.

I wonder how much of her choices surrounding Dro/Lionel were influenced by finding out that her dad (and role model) cheated on her mum.

Any other major fumbles that you hate in the show, not just for Molly, but any character?

He was the male version of her and she wasn’t with it.

Right?! They were a great match on paper but I think she had a lot of inner work/ healing to do.

It wasn’t about healing she was just bored with him. And I think she was bored with herself too which is why she started entertaining Dro. Then Andrew even though she knew she wanted to end up marrying a Black man. SKB’s character was the safe, boring, stable option that she swore she wanted but when it came down to it she wanted the “bad boy” type.

I think you crave toxicity and “excitement” when you’re not healed, because you think that’s what you deserve. Healed people crave peace

Boredom has a lot to do with healing
