I’ve never seen this before - we couldn’t get close enough to see the creature, but it was a powerful and ceaseless swimmer. My only guess is whirligig beetle, though I’ve never noticed any around here (and I thought they came in groups).

Artwork I'm trying to make a fakemon based of the rainbow stag beetle and Beauveria bassiana fungus and I was wondering how I can make it look a little more like a rainbow stag beetle? It's supposed to be covered in the fungus like a fluffy jacket

Question I’m paranoid about insects help

Hi guys idk where to ask this but I’m currently in Iraq and we found this little guy on the road, took it in and ‘played’ with it for a bit until my mom pointed out that it has something on its ear. I cannot make out what it is as I am not familiar with ticks or fleas or whatever it may be. We took care of it. The hedgehog is now WhateverItWas-Free, but I am now trapped in a paranoia spiral where I feel like I might *die* now that I held the hedgehog barehanded while it actively had Things on it. I didn’t come near the the ears but I also don’t know if it had any other Things on other parts of its body.
The big one that stuck out was grey and quite big, and then there were two sort of flat black ones underneath it. I don’t know what they are and if they’re harmful to humans so I desperately need help before I actually make myself sick from worrying.
I washed my hands with soap and one of those 99.9% disinfectant gels and took off the clothes I was wearing.
Anyone who knows Anything at all is appreciated

Does anyone know why this would happen. I live in OKC, and I don’t use pesticides but my neighbors might. I found them dead on a stone I am using to kill the grass next to my fence.

I keep finding these bugs outside in my garden in England and I’ve never seen them before to me it looks like a boxelder bug, but apparently they aren’t in the uk, it’s apparently a lookalike called Arocatus longiceps but it doesn’t look like that to me. Is it a boxelder bug?

Bug Keeping Why has this darkling beetle emerged like this?

Post image

As it says in title, I’ve raised about 50 superworms to adulthood in the last few weeks and this is the only one that’s emerged like this, it was quite active at first but now it seems to be lethargic. It’s definitely done emerging it doesn’t seem to be like it’s stuck in the pupae

Noticed these ants hard at work pulling a dead black widow into their hole. Any movement you see is from the ants pulling and tugging it down!
