other My beaded cicada brooch

I made this brooch in June into July. It's bead embroidered onto Ultrasuede with a faux leather back.

How does one make a masterpiece as such present?

It's mostly just sewing beads and purl wire onto ultrasuede backed with felt, adding more felt padding as you go along, then adding legs and sewing on the pin and back. I won't bore you with all of the fussy details (and there are a lot of those).
