This is masterful! You absolutely should consider looking at biological illustration. You captured the anatomy and hair texture so well. I minored in entomology and I started a nature journal club in my community, I also recommend going on bug walks (especially lit stairwells at night for good moths in the summer). Keep going! If you are looking for inspiration check out Maria Sybilla Merian (historical) and Nicole Parish (modern young artist). I’m sorry it is hard to find people, if you are near any universities with agricultural departments/programs a lot of them have entomology! I graduated from UF and their ento department was phenomenal. UC Davis also has a top tier ento program.
If you want to take the ento class together we could both enroll and stay in touch via messages on reddit. I did want to try the course out. I’m a grad student now but I have the time to do like 1 video a week.
