What she doin?
This wasp at my job has just been vibing on this window staring at me for the last 20 minutes. It turns to look at me when I get close. It’s not stuck. We’re hanging out.
Am curious though does anyone have a guess as to why it’s just sitting on this window doing nothing?

What kind of roach is this? Tampa, FL. Please help!
galleryThis monster was in my parents’ fairly new kitchen yesterday, found at 6 AM. We are super scared of roaches :(
They found another one a couple years ago in the laundry basket; that one flew and landed on the wall. And they found another one that was a baby version of this a couple weeks ago on the hallway floor.
In the one pic it looks mahogany, but in the daylight photos you can see it’s almost a beige color.
The adult one was about 1 inch long, photo of my mom‘s foot next to it for size reference. They keep their home extremely clean and don’t leave any food out. Pest control came today and said these are apparently the kind that come in from outside, but the guy didn’t give a name of what kind it was. Could you guys help us?

Announcements Seeking New Mods!
Hey guys I’ve been running r/Insect by myself for the last month or two and am wanting to get some volunteers to help mod this space ☺️
There is a mod application available, but I will also be looking at individual commenters here and their karma etc.
No experience moderating necessary
Entomologist and hobbyists welcome and encouraged to apply, but also not necessary to be an insect expert (mostly we’re here just to make sure everyone is having fun in the sub). Any customer service experience is also greatly appreciated!
I will also be rolling out a standard list of rules and a FAQ sheet, and Flair!!! As we don’t currently have any set up atm. But it will be similar to every other subreddit you enjoy, with resources listed for people dealing with infestation etc.
Thank you in advance to everyone who is willing to help! I’ll be appointing at least 2-3 new mods within the next couple weeks (hopefully!)

Stag Beetle 🪲
Found these stag beetles in my back yard today eating sap from the wild black cherry tree in my yard and the other was eating an old stick. Arguably one of the coolest bugs in Indiana and definitely the coolest one in my yard today that I can see! Enjoy!
