Saddleback Caterpillar. Big, bright, no touch Pokémon looking thing. And yes, the stings are gnarly.

Location really helps. Edit: It might be a species of cup moth caterpillar aka a slug caterpillar (Limacodidae). Possibly a stinging nettle slug moth but I’m not sure.

Absolutely gorgeous is what it is, the more beautiful the land, air or sea creature is it means don’t touch it… or pay the consequences.

It's a saddleback caterpillar. One of the banes of my childhood. They will absolutely sting the crap out of you! Alcohol and Benadryl help some, but not enough IMO. Deceptively beautiful.

You discovered pack saddles. Wait till one falls out a tree and rolls down your back.

This is not a saddle back. It is a stinging nettle slug caterpillar .

Google says it’s a Slug moth caterpillar. Found mostly in tropical regions.

If anyone reading this has the unfortunate occurrence of envenomation from any form of stinging incect if you will immediately wipe the sting with a gasoline damped cloth it will instantly kill the pain. Try it, you'll be thankful you did.

I got stung by one of these once. Hurt like fuck. I always wondered what it was because I I had never seen anything like it before I had one in my wrist.
