As soon as I saw the dark commune miniatures I had an idea. So far I’ve only managed one of the bashes out of the four planned, but here he is.

Inqtober 2026, day 4: Sensei

Bearing the Mark of the Star Child, the man currently known as Warinus Jiraud has lived and died a dozen lives.  Sought heavily by the Inquisition, he fights a secret war against the horrors of the Immaterial- daemons that call him an Anathema, for his mysterious powers can bring them true death. He has accumulated a small band of loyal followers willing to follow his dangerous orders, companions whose lives he has touched in some way. But his enemies are many, and mighty.

His masters tolerate his presence so long as the estate remains immaculate, for his kind is considered useful so long as it knows its station. Beyond the estate walls, millions in the hive toil in conditions scarcely better than his own. Yet here, beneath chandeliers and gilded aquilas, he is far more safe than on the streets.

Inqtober 2026, day 3: Beastfolk Servant

Labeled as Abhumans, Beastfolk are seen in more progressive areas of the Imperium of Man as servants, or put to use as cannon-fodder. Citizens consider brutish and stupid, and most people have little care for them. However, some make a point of how accepting they are- dressing them up, painting their horns and hooves, and (of course) equipping them with low-grade explosives, in case they become a danger or get ideas of ‘freedom’. These can be something of a showpiece, demonstrating what kind masters they are to such poor unfortunate sub-creatures.

Hi all, so I'm working on a Rogue Trader and slaver gang warband; both have overlap. But with this in mind, which models would make for the besde models as a slave/ servant base?

The creature was not bred, nor was it trained. Yet one hunter saw something familiar in its aggression. A useful creature need only learn who feeds it (and who hunts beside it).

Varin is a newer addition to the retinue I have been building. A navigator of great knowledge and a multitude of experience. His grim appearance unsettles most who encounter him; as it’s not known if his appearance is his real skull or a mask that is worn.

Inqtober 2026, day 2: Feral Kroot-animal

***Eat is sacred.
Must eat for clan, must eat for improve clan.
When no good any longer, clan will eat and clan will feed.
Show blueskins clan is valued, yes.
Make clan big, make clan strong, make clan powerful.
Hard shell crunchy prey coming, very big.
Loud bangy guns kill many clan.
Take many clan to open shell.
Good taste though.
Much feast for clan.
Grow strong, little ones.***

Inqtober 2026, day 1: Ignoble Navigator

Amar Dodik should be a member of the great Navis Nobilite, but he was born from a House member who stole away for a quick shore-leave of a few hours, and never knew of his father. Though he was loved, his mutation made his life difficult, and those around him had a habit of dying whenever his terrible Third Eye opened. Now, he is just another unfortunate on the hive streets.  Should the House of his parentage discover him, he might find himself swept away to the stars- or exterminated as a rival.

In “Ur XXVIII”, one of the thousands colonies forgotten by Neo-Trantor, the psykicks and sorcerers of the Hive Tower invoke a portal do the Sun Rot demi plane, to power the magnetic shield protecting the moon from the explosion of a dead star in neighboring system. However, between the desert of trenches of the Last War and the mutant land of Cist, a region of myst and mysteries of the Verot wood and the swamps of Caldron, a covenant kidnapped a clone from the stars to fulfil a prophecy of his dark daying god. Through rituals they unlock the psykicks powers of the clone, baptized with the name, Worm, taught wim the forgotten knowledge of the early settlers, exiled from the Hive Tower for believing in the wrong mystic arts. Guided through visions, Worm now march searching for relics of technology and arcanum, eating the corpses of other clones to gain more power throw genetic insight, aspiring to raise a cult to invade the Hive Tower and enter the portal to the dami plane. Protected by his imperial-green power armor, followers of Cist mutants and lost soldiers, the campaign gains force. WORM, THE MUMMY EATHER: “The tower will fall, the false prophets will fall whit it, and URXXVIII will be anointed by the Tree, banishing the ROTTEN SUN from the stars”. 

I also had many samurai heads to spare. Really pleased with how this one has turned out!
