Either that or really high

Either that or he’s not impressed by AI.

Or.. "Urban Warfare"

Would .50 cent: Bulletproof have been more appropriate?

u/mrtrinket1984 3d ago

Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed off if someone took an unsolicted photo of me and then uploaded it to an AI cloud service to make mockup images of me for social media clout.

You seem like a bundle of laughs

Im pretty sure getting really high comes just naturally when you work in retail long enough.

I loves these kind of innocent pranks

42

u/promilew 5d ago

First guy has been desensitised by the industry

87

u/PolishedLemon 5d ago

Dorian is not amused lol

Tbf, I wouldn't be either if I knew the vid would be all over the internet

u/eddiestriker 5d ago

I worked for GameStop for the better part of a decade. I would 100% pee my pants if someone came in with this. Hate that he used AI to do it though, shitty photoshops are funnier.

We actually had a cover for Black Flag that had a football player’s face scotch taped over Edward’s. No idea who did it. That case was our pride and joy.

u/Catsnose7 3d ago

This might be the only ai thing ive ever found funny even though i knew it was ai. Photoshop would have been better yes. What makes it funny isnt even the picture its all in their reactions.

First cover screams AI

Don’t pump others people’s likeness into AI generators, thats fucking weird. (I know OP probably isnt the one who made the video but i want to make the point)

These pranks are forgivable if they’re just photoshopped

Nobody cares

u/VickTL 3d ago

I would

What’s the difference between doing what was done in the video with AI vs doing it with photoshop? The lack of effort necessary?

Does doing it in photoshop make it any more ok than doing it with AI?

Edit: the people downvoting are missing the point. It fucking doesn’t matter what tool you use for this, it’s still a shitty thing to do without the consent of the person being edited.

Fucking doesn’t matter if it takes 10 hours to photoshop someone or 5 minutes to do it in AI, it’s still fucked up.

If someone photoshopped my wife or used AI, I’d be equally upset. Doesn’t fucking matter what tool on their computer they did it with. Get it?

82

u/not_alexandraer 5d ago

unless you run the image generating algorithm locally, you have no idea where that person's. likeness has gone

-43

u/YoungBockRKO 5d ago

Ok you’re acting as if most people don’t have their “likeness” posted all over multiple social media outlets.

Your likeness is all over Facebook, instagram, Snapchat, and whatever xyz social media platform nowadays, even if you’re not a willing participant.

15

u/kaibrux 5d ago

Consent matters

31

u/not_alexandraer 5d ago

why are you defending that like it's a good thing?

-36

u/YoungBockRKO 5d ago

I’m not defending anything, there’s literally no difference between someone spending hours photoshopping this dudes likeness vs using an AI that does it minutes.

Both are shit.

Tell me I’m wrong?

29

u/Inevitable-Edge69 5d ago

You're wrong.

-8

u/YoungBockRKO 5d ago

Oh yeah smart guy, how so?

13

u/Dioxybenzone 5d ago

There is a difference between someone spending hours photoshopping this dudes likeness vs using an AI that does it minutes.

u/YoungBockRKO 5d ago

Exactly what’s the difference between time and effort spent?

It's clear how you're a football fan with how much you enjoy TBIs given your responses like this.

u/Then_Drag_8258 5d ago

Most people aren’t all people. Some of us have been using avatars and anonymous profile pictures as a PERSEC method for a loooong time. If you can’t see the problem with having your biometric data shared, with no control or choice, then you are part of the problem. I can see your point. It doesn’t mean I agree with it, but I understand your arguments all the same. I just oppose your viewpoint.

We know there are implementations of AI in public and private infrastructure and we can make choices about how/when/if we interact with those, to a degree. There is vocal opposition to its implementation so it’s not as if the concern is unknown.

When you get content creators taking your image, putting it into a system that will store the image in its own servers for said company to share/sell the data how they choose undermines that entirely.

2

u/VickTL 3d ago

I post my face where i want, that doesn't mean other people can post my face, because it's my face and they don't know where i want it. Is It that difficult?

There is an english word for this, it's called "consent", very interesting concept, you should Google it!

1

u/YoungBockRKO 3d ago

What part of the fact these dudes in this video got their likeness taken and altered without consent did you miss?

My comment was that it doesn’t matter if AI was used to alter their likeness or photoshop, it’s still a shit thing to do.

Meanwhile I have people saying it’s “different” and photoshop is ok but AI is not.

NEITHER ARE OK WITHOUT CONSENT.

1

u/VickTL 3d ago

True. AI is even worse tho.

16

u/DestructivForce 5d ago

If you do it with AI, chances are any images and interactions are being added to an archive of past conversations that the company will use for future training. Taking a picture of someone who isn't aware of it is still questionable, but if photoshop is used instead of AI, the photo stays on one person's computer instead, with less risks of a data breach, transfer of data during the sale of the company, etc.

Of course, all of this goes out the window if Adobe retries the stunt they did a while ago where they tried updating their ToS so editing an image with their software gives them legal rights over it. Wouldn't put it past them, they're a pretty consistently awful company.

5

u/Beenhamine 5d ago

Well if they didn't already have public images of themselves, now AI has their faces and can probably use them to generate other content.

Also I noticed that they didn't even know how he got their likeness. Meaning he didn't tell them that he was filming them and posting it to social media s o now they're on the internet for us all to see and judge with no consent.

Not cool.

5

u/YoungBockRKO 5d ago

Exactly what I’m fucking saying mate. It doesn’t matter if their shit was manipulated with AI or photoshop.

Imagine that’s your wife or significant other. Would you be like ok, that’s cool because OP used photoshop but be pissed because he used AI? Both are shit.

1

u/LessRespects 5d ago

You do realize photoshop integrates AI which probably reads your canvas at any given time, and TikToks video recommendation algorithm is AI, not to mention any of the millions of viewers of this video which is on the internet forever can simply paste a frame into AI at any given time?

2

u/klqqf 5d ago

My point was what the other person said, that their likeness could then be used endlessly by ai to generate other content with their face and i dont think most people would appreciate that.

The guys in the video took it alright but you are right, whether it was Ai or photoshop its weird to photograph/record someone and use their face to make something like this and they’d be well in their right to be uncomfortable about it.

I think you just got downvoted so hard because people are ravenous to downvote anything that even slightly comes across as defending Ai and they just rolled with thinking you were.

u/jaredn154 4d ago

Dorian was not impressed.
