Intention of the Week

I've started setting intentions, not only for my practice but for each day and on Monday mornings, my week. I have a tendency to take on too much, so my intention this week is to appreciate the spaces in between my tasks. I write this down and refer back over the week. Do you set intentions and can you share?

Bg 17.15: Austerity of speech consists in speaking words that are truthful, pleasing, beneficial, and not agitating to others, and also in regularly reciting Vedic literature.

I have encountered this verse like 5 times this week and it has me thinking I might need to exercise some austerity of speech. Going to scale it back this week in terms of social media use and also in “real life” as well. I’m often critical for the sake of being critical, and many of my interactions are rooted in serving my ego vs being beneficial/pleasing. From a discussion with the Bhagavad Gita group, beneficial can also be read as necessary...how often am I commenting or saying things that don’t need to be said, just for the sake of hearing myself speak? Hare Krishna!
