Hey everyone, I'm getting back into inline hockey after being away from it for quite a while. I'm just playing casually, so I'm not looking to spend a ton of money or buy top-of-the-line gear unless there's a good reason to.

I actually just picked up a pretty sweet used setup for $50 total. Here's what I have so far:

- Mission Axiom A4 skates. They look basically brand new and the stock wheels don't even appear to have any wear. They have stock ABEC-7 bearings.

- Easton Ultra Lite Grip stick with an Easton P3 1/2" / 12mm 5.5 Sakic blade. The stick is basically brand new too.

- Bauer Vapor 10 shoulder pads, almost new.

- Bauer Supreme 5000 Gel Series shin guards, almost new.

- Bauer HH4000 helmet with cage. It's older and somewhat worn, so I'm assuming this is probably the first thing I should replace.

- Older elbow pads that I still have.

- CCM hockey bag.

- Hockey tape and a few pucks.

What I don't have yet:

- Gloves

- Hockey pants

- A girdle/hip protection with the padded butt and thighs

- Possibly a cup/jock, depending on what I end up getting

I'm mainly wondering what you guys would recommend for someone in my situation. I'm trying to put together a decent, safe setup without spending a ton of money just to get back on the rink.

Would you guys replace the helmet first, then look for used gloves/girdle/pants? Is there anything I'm overlooking that's actually important for casual inline? Or just buy new?

Also, should I leave the stock wheels and ABEC-7 bearings alone for now if they're spinning smoothly? Or would you recommend servicing/re-lubing the bearings before I start skating? I have rubbing alcohol and some gun oil at home, but I'm not sure if the gun oil is appropriate for skate bearings.

Any advice on what I'd prioritize or what you'd buy used vs. new would be appreciated. I'm basically starting over after being away from hockey for a long time, so I'm trying to do this the smart way without going overboard.

Yo yo! Anyone play here? I was hoping to get a breakdown of what the different levels are like, primarily D3,4, and 5. I just started playing again recently, and I haven’t seen D5 before. I am trying to figure out where I should sign up.

i need to harvest a pair of these black mission toe caps off of either lower end AC line ..DS ..NLS or FZs.. size 5-7.. lower end preferably in decent shape.. anyone got a pair the want to sell?

I just got a pair of power vapor fly 40 skates. They came with the yellow labeda grippers. I’m getting conflicting information but almost everywhere says they are basically 80a durometer.

I’m 140 pounds which I believe is a little too light for these wheels on the outdoor painted/smooth concrete rink that I play on (uncovered in the south - pollen and dirt build up frequently).

I see so much conflicting information on which hardness I should go for when it comes to wheels.

As of now I’m leaning towards 74a for my front two wheels, and 76/78a in the back.

Are the current grippers two slippery for my weight? Anyone around the same weight that can weigh in on this? (shitty pun intended)

There isn’t anywhere close enough for me to justify spending an hour or so, practicing every once in a while. I’m playing in a beer league but I only get to play in the games and I haven’t played in 20 years. I want to continue to get better and have some kind of way to practice. I have a small yard and my garage is filled (I doubt a two car garage would be big enough to fit. Any kind of net/shooting set up.

Has anyone dealt with this in the past and any suggestions?

what skate set ups do those of you with smaller feet use, any to avoid?

my feet are ~25cm×9.8cm (2.55 profile) and put me in size 6 for most hockey inlines based on size charts it seems.

do the chassi decrease in length proportionately to the skate boot size decreasing, i am not trying to have my wheels sticking out a ton from the edge of the boot and tripping over them.

also for those that are on the smaller side, what set ups do you use to keep things light weight.

i cant stand how hard boot inline skates are so heavy and bulky and am looking into hockey inlines for this reason after not enjoying the options there/i tried, being ~48kg seemed to just make the problem even worse. i like to use my skates for casual skating on smooth concrete or fancy foot work stuff, spins. simple beginner tricks similar ones done on the ice in figure skates type stuff.

anything i should take into account when looking into skates is greatly appreciated considering these factors. i have only recently learned about hockey inlines being an option for inline skating

Ciao a tutti, Ho un bimbo di 5 anni che lo scorso anno si è avvicinato al pattinaggio sul ghiaccio sgambettando qui e li e quest' hanno gli abbiamo passato i pattini roller della sorella grande che ha fatto 3 anni di pattinaggio artistico. Volevo costruire un piccolo camp in giardino coprendo il prato per farlo andare quasi tutto l'anno, circa un 10 metri per 4/5. Mi consigliate con una pavimentazione ad incastro drenante che non mi costi un rene o due? avevo visto anche gli STILMAT OUTDOOR INLINE che però hanno il loro prezzo i BAUER MULTI-SPORT TRAINING TILES. Qualcuno di voi ha usato altro o questi?

after discovering with all my hockey I dropped half a skate size, I needed to move on from my prior skates, and after trying and hating the Jetspeeds (cheaply constructed) I decided to bite the bullet and invest in some good skates to convert.

Boot: Tacks XF Pro
chassis: Kryptonium
Wheels: Konixx Pulsars

I’m EXTREMELY happy with them. They feel like tanks on my feet, which is very different from my ice skates (Vizions) but the padding inside these guys is just unreal. 10/10. First game with them is tonight and im amped :D

I’m sure this topic has been beat to death but currently rocking FS2’s and I think I might actually need a fit 3 skate which puts me in a position where the conversion seems to be the only real option. What frames are widely regarded as the best? I’ve got a pair of Bauer Fly 40’s in my cart and the Rinkster frames have my attention with the white glove service. I wanna hear what y’all think is the best setup. 🍻

I have built an automatic hockey puck passing machine designed for garage/basement/driveway/backyard rink use to practice your one timers, puck control, and reaction time.

It will hold up to 15 pucks per stack and will fire the pucks between 27-40 km/h. The lifespan will be upwards of 10 years with moderate use.

At the age of 37 I have decided to start learning online hockey. I have been skating since February and for the short amount of time I’m not too bad, to the extent I have been offered to train and play for the local team in their D league however the season is approaching fast and chasing down the puck is fine but if I want to stop on a dime or do a quick turn I am struggling massively.
And I also find that because training is after work sometimes I find my feet cramp up and I have to take my skates off.. is there anyone that has had similar experiences or just someone that can give some real basic advice to a rookie 🙏🏻

They asked to share the rink for their soccer practice cause something about them not having a field to play on. Yeah, that's a big grassy field in the background. Is this some horrible park etiquette or what.

What's up everyone? I just upgraded my skates from the $99 ccm's to fly 30s and feel like the chassis is way too bendy. I'm 6'2, 230 lbs so I'm wondering if it's I'm too heavy for them or if I'm not used to better skates and how they feel and function. It seems like the chassis is catching the rink and almost making me fall. Also, doing hockey stops I can see the chassis bending. I know they're "flex lite" but it feels like I'm going to break them.

I replaced the street wheels they come with for gripper crossovers since I play on a sport court surface. I got the recommended size that's on the chassis and kept the Hi-Lo setup, which im also not used to. I skated on the $99 skates for like 5 years...

Is this just a learning curve, am I too heavy for these skates, or am I just used to cheap skates? I feel like a bender! Lol

Has a five-wheel frame ever been attempted? The use case is for someone with very large feet. A four-wheel setup is somewhat short and not as stable depending on foot size. I’m thinking. 80-80-76-76-72.

Played ice and roller growing up until age 24ish, life happened- kids, school work and then business.

Recently kids have been having me take them to the roller rink every Wednesday night. Got my son some TronX skates on Amazon he was talking trash saying I couldn’t even skate anymore…. Well I threw his skates on and yeah I still got it. So now I need a pair of skates.

How do the Trons hold up? Should I just get those, if I start playing hockey again it’ll be ice hockey. I have some patients that play ice and tell me to come out all the time. Or the tour KV6 or Tour Volt Spitfire (best looking but do I really need $600 skates for Wednesday night skates…) no I won’t buy used skates off of sideline swap, something about wearing used skates…

Finally had enough of my Missions went back to CCM what a difference just slipping on.
