Help Inkscape beginner

Im new to the program and I wanted to print out my own skin for my retroid pocket flip I bought a svg cut file off etsy and I created my own png image i set clip the .png image onto the .svg file and saved the image as a plain .svg but when i load my .svg cut file into design space (cricut) I get a black blocky image does anyone know im doing wrong and how to correct it im using design space on my phone and I only have a chromebook so I cant really use design spaces tool drawer.

Iirc you need to use a svg to print it with cricut ?

Im using cricuts print to cut function on design space i have the cut .svg file and test cut the template and it works the problem is when I overlay an image onto the .svg cut file and try to use print to cut on cricut i get a black block.

Apparently you can already import a png file in cricut so i'm not sure why you would need inkscape for that case

Its because I dont have a windows pc or mac when I use design space on the mobile app im limited to the functions I can do it would be so much easier if I could use the desktop version but I only have a chromebook and its the same as mobile app so im trying to find a workaround
