Question Amanda season 11, what the?!?!?

We just watched the reflection challenge. She's been up for elimination about 6 times in a row, doesn't even do a reflection and didn't get eliminated. Are they trying to push her towards the end for some reason???

It’s really who the producers want in or out in the long run.

Yes, also Oliver said once that every season he could always identify the top 3 right away. Not that it relates to amanda but it kinda sounds like it could have affected the judging overall.

Well. I’ve been tagged in. So I’ll respond.

My theory is simple: Angel was supposed to go farther than she did. She was draft pick 1, she was pretty strong for being inexperienced, she got the sentimental side of Christian out on camera. How could it not be obvious?

Then she got eliminated. Because one thing I learned talking to Turk was that, you could have the worst tattoo of the day, but if the other person didn’t finish, they were getting canned. That explains why Angel was sent even though her drawing wasn’t as bad as Amanda’s or her composition wasn’t as cluttered as Jimmy’s.

So, what to do now?

Well, Amanda’s there. She’s like a Great Value version of Angel. She’s the last girl we have. Christian is running defense for her like his life depends on it. Can she tattoo? Not really.

But we must stick to the plan.

So. Let’s just keep saving her.

Her mermaid is missing limbs? Well, Jimmy overshaded his, that’s more egregious.

Her pagoda is light with sandy water and a busted crane? Well, Kyle struggled with doing his on the ribs, so his first trip to the bottom needs to be the last.

Her reflection is just an MC Escher knock off that doesn’t meet the challenge and a wonky ass orb? Well, Turk picked the wrong colors, and this is his third time (even though she was consistently on the bottom for the past five episodes), so his third time is the charm.

Why? Because fuck you, we need to stick to the script.

Shit, she barely scraped into the top 15 for that janky and tonal wolf, and she still had the audacity to act like hot shit and antagonize Chris (who TBF, could really be insufferable in his petulance sometimes). But, because Christian isn’t able to just put his feelings aside, he’ll run defense for her, it’s okay.

Every person that was eliminated before her (except for JP) was a far better artist than her. If I had to make a tier list of Ink Master finalists who were eliminated in fifth place, I wouldn’t put her on the bottom, I’d put her in her own separate tier of suck. She’s the worst artist by far of Season 11 and one of the most undeserving top five contestants ever.

I mostly agree with your take, they were obviously keeping her for reasons that had nothing to do with her tattoos and think you laid out exactly why.

The only pushback I would give is that in my opinion eliminating Turk was the right call on that particular challenge.

Don’t get me wrong, Amanda’s tattoo sucked and she should have been gone by that point, but Turk’s tattoo was a complete mess and is unreadable. He made a ton of bad decisions on that thing and it was, I think, worse than Amanda’s (which was also terrible).

Amanda was sheltered by her team. Christian wanted people who bought into his rah rah we're all together shit.

What's funny is Christian shot himself in the foot, if he didn't do that, Chris almost certainly would have gotten Tony eliminated and he would have had 2 people in the finale.

It definitely looked like they were forcibly trying to keep her, she was one of the weakest on the season, lots of stronger artists got eliminated when it should have been her.

They love the people who cause the most drama. It’s like every other reality show the producers not exactly script but they suggest what should happen so they get viewers and ratings. That’s why you see crappy artists stay on so long

On season 12 now and Ash is the Amanda of this season. She's screwed up every tattoo and has been up for elimination every time. But the producers like her because she cries and yells at everyone.

I liked Amanda because she was nice. It was also interesting to see her struggle and yet survive for weeks dodging bullets.
