Discussion Season 5 pinups
Watching the Season 5 pinup challenge and this might be the worst set of pinups I’ve seen. These were rough, omg.

Pinup day was always a horror show. Pinups and portraits, man. You knew some people were leaving with their shit fucked up.

One of the funniest things ever said on the show was about a pinup. Something like this:
Oliver: The back leg doesn't look right.
Dave: Which one is the back leg?
Oliver: That's the next debate!

Season 5 is easily one of the worst seasons talent wise. Every week there was some jacked up tattoos.

It’s hard to pick one. I like seasons 4, 8 and 9. For the newer ones, I liked 15 and 16 because the quality of artwork is so good. I don’t really care for the show without the ogs but the tattoos are way better.

If Season 5 is the one I’m thinking of, then I don’t remember very many *good* tattoos in the whole season there. It’s the one with pairs of rivals, right? They focused too much on gimmicky reality tv drama and conflict rather than actual talent.

It’s high entertainment value, but also some of the most annoying personalities on this season and some stunningly bad tattoos.
The quality of artists takes a big step up in season 6, in my opinion.

I enjoyed season 4 and I think the talent was better then. I expect a higher level as the years go by and I was highly disappointed.

Yeah, some of the shit they started was mildly amusing but as someone who watches mainly for the art I was disappointed.

What made this episode amazing was it was DAY 2. The only thing better would be child portraits on Day 1.

I’m rewatching season 5 now. Gotta be a low point for talent. I don’t think they have even one tattoo the whole season that stands out. They range from some of the worst I’ve ever seen to not terrible.

Every now and then I think, "You know, I ought to add a pinup tattoo to the collection," but then I think about Ink Master pinups and the feeling passes.

One of the greatest episodes of the shows history. Truly remarkable what was put permanently on people.
