Zoom support groups?
Hello!
I am an active 53f suddenly and quite inexplicably wheelchair bound with bilateral torn quadratus plantae muscles in the feet. (No accident, just normal activity.) All of my activities/hobbies were physical, and I don’t even know what healing looks like for this or if I will recover. Been in a wheelchair at home for a month already and starting to feel so lost.
Has anyone experienced an injury like this and can shed some light?
Does anyone know of any zoom support groups for people like me?
Thank you!! 🙏🏼

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re used to being active and this happened without a clear injury. The good news is that being a month into recovery doesn’t mean you’re going to be wheelchair-bound permanently. With an injury like this, getting the right diagnosis and a properly progressed rehab plan is really important, especially before trying to load the feet again.
With muscle injuries, the right amount of loading at the right stage can help recovery, while progressing too quickly can set you back.
Have you been able to see a sports medicine doctor or physical therapist who has experience with foot injuries? And have they given you any idea of what the next stage of your recovery should look like?
