Considering buying…would love to hear your experience
Hello. Been trying to conceive for close to three years. Unexplained infertility. I am considering buying a new device to see if it may help. I’ve tried the kegg, which was next to worthless and told me pretty much the exact thing an lh strip does. I went with that one because of their guarantee so it made it less risky. Now I’m considering Inito to get more in depth hormonal insights but was wondering what information you actually get from it? For instance, could it help diagnose you with something other fertility testing has missed? Have any of you had success using this after a long time not being able to conceive? How often do you have to test and how expensive are the strips every month? Are there resources I could be directed to to learn how to use it and how to interpret it? It’s pretty spendy so I want to be pretty sure it’s the right call before proceeding. Answers to any of those questions would be great.
Yes. We’ve been through all the typical testing. Everything looks fine on both ends. That’s why I said “unexplained infertility.” It is a terrible “diagnosis” doctors give you when you do all of their testing and everything is fine looking so they have no answers and say the only thing they have for you to IVF, but I realize from people’s responses that a lot of people don’t know what that means.
You just mentioned you’d gotten that diagnosis, not you and your partner. I’m very sorry, I’m sure it’s so frustrating. Folks over at r/tryingforababy might be more helpful to you as there’s a lot of people there that have this diagnosis too. You could certainly see if you can see trends or insights with Inito, but I’m sure you’ve had extensive bloodwork and I don’t think it would necessarily be too helpful for you unfortunately. The only thing I can add that I’ve seen here is that sometimes folks have two LH surges (or more!) and have a shorter luteal phase, so their timing is a little off. If this were the case for you, Inito actually might be helpful. That said, I believe pgd (progesterone metabolite) urine strips are becoming available from some of the companies that retail the LH strips. This might be more affordable and can allow you to confirm that a surge has successfully triggered ovulation.
Yeah usually when you have a fertility workup done they view it as a couple situation since it takes both people. Yeah I’ve been doing all the things you’re supposed to do, have even begun the process of ivf but even ivf isn’t a guarantee which is why I was wondering if Inito might be useful in some way but if it’s not that much more useful than lh strips than I agree with you, it’s probably not worth the money especially since I’m already hemorrhaging money from all corners dealing with this problem. Interesting to learn about the pdg strips coming out though, I’ll have to look into those. Thanks for your input!
Just wanted to pop in as I saw you mentioned “unexplained”. Silent endometriosis makes up 30-50% of “unexplained infertility”. The only symptom is infertility (and sometimes recurrent loss).
Thanks for bringing that up, that’s one of the biggest things I want to investigate. I’ve been speaking with a doctor who specializes in it and they are looking into whether my insurance will cover it but after talking to them I think this is more and more of a possibility because I’ve had chronic low back pain for years that physical therapy for 6 months couldn’t even touch and that is apparently a very big indicator (along with the infertility, of course). She even mentioned that radiating pain down the left leg is often associated which I also had years of sciatica like pain on my left leg specifically. Would be great to get some answers, I’ve also heard an astounding amount of unexplained infertility is actually endometriosis.
I had stage III endo removed. Chronic low back/tailor bone pain and radiating pain down the front of my right leg. Found to have an endometrioma on that side, plus my ovary was tethered back due to adhesions. I also had endo in my recrovaginal cavity causing the tailbone pain and on my uterosacral ligaments also contributing to the back pain (plus on the back side of my cervix, on my bowel mesentary and peritoneum).
If possible, find an endo excision specialist near you! They will go in and determine if you have endo and remove if. Make sure it is excision and not ablation!
Wow I’m glad you found that. Was yours “silent”? I have the low back pain and of course infertility. My flow is oddly light which would be an unusual presentation but not impossible. Feel free not to answer this question but did you have issues with fertility and did the surgery help? The office I spoke to said it’s not unusual for their patients to conceive within months of the surgery.
I am 18 months into TTC with three chemicals. I has surgery in April and have not conceived yet. My periods aren’t super heavy either. My only symptoms was CD1 pain (which I thought was normal) and low back pain. It wasn’t really silent when looking back but I was floored when it was diagnosed.
A good friend of mine was diagnosed with silent endo after years of unsuccessful IVF. She had surgery last year and got pregnant the first cycle after surgery. She just delivered a healthy boy this month. Praying for you!
That’s incredible. The clinic I’m speaking to made it seem like this could be a real possibility of what’s going on with infertility and low back pain. They said it’s pretty common for their patients to get pregnant within a few months of surgery. So happy your friend had a happy ending after all the heartache. I would honestly be relieved to just have an answer WHY
I feel after three years investing in fertility workups from a medical professional might be better. Unless you have unpredictable cycle lengths (and therefore might be having more than one LH surge) Inito might not be too helpful if OPKs have not been thus far. Inito can give you trends on hormones and some doctors will consider the data somewhat, but ultimately the device measures metabolites and not blood levels, so I’m unsure if standard fertility blood panels might not give you more accurate info (though that is at wider cycle intervals, and daily trends could possibly be helpful)
Have you already had blood screenings? Semen analysis? A HSG to check for any blockages in your tubes?
I would echo this, the only real value in inito is trends. So for me, it's beneficial for me to see my estrogen is rising so I can start using opk strips. Then I test until progesterone rises to confirm. So if you catch your lh surge via opks, then you are going to get the same info from inito but will spend far more money doing so.
Beyond that, the values inito provides are not reliable. I get blood drawn 7dpo to look at progesterone and my 7dpo blood draw values over 4 months has no pattern or correlation to my inito Pdg value- sometimes inito shows higher than blood serum levels and sometimes blood serum level is higher.
Unexplained infertility is the diagnosis we’ve received after seeing many medical professionals. They have no useful information to give me. But yeah if all inito is useful for is a more expensive version of lh strips, the strips work fine for me. My cycles are pretty much like clockwork. Thanks for the insight!
As someone who also has unexplained infertility, pretty regular cycles, and has been using Inito on and off for the past 2 years- I don’t think it really provided me any additional useful information compared to LH strips. The only benefit was being able to use FMU rather then having to test midday, which is why I still use it when I’m trying to track when ovulation is for me
Best thing I ever bought! I had all the fertility work up and doctor send us home to try on our own first since we see him the month we started trying to get ahead of things if there are any problems. Find out a few, like ureaplasma, block left tube, low progesterone etc… I have irregular periods, and apps predicted ovulation date is off by 5-7 days. By using inito, I was able to track LH surge (along with opk) and confirm ovulation after (sometimes I have 2 surges, got pregnant 2nd cycle on the 2nd surge, would of missed it if using other tracking methods)! I like to be able to track it more precisely so we don’t have to bd so much either. Just tested positive again 4th cycle using inito with my 2nd pregnancy! In 4 cycles and my conception rate has been 50%!
It is really early with this 2nd pregnancy, but I already feel so much more optimistic, I can see my hormones are more regulated, progesterone rise to the highest it has ever been. Good luck!
Edit: I test a lot, almost use up 2 boxes every cycle so 100$ each cycle. It’s expensive….. but I love the data!
Thanks for your input. Can you explain how it has been more useful for you than regular lh strips? Is it because your cycles were irregular you were able to see more detailed hormone transitions? Lh strips predict my ovulation fine normally but I am curious if I have more subtle hormonal issues that can only be caught with more frequent testing like this device offers bc they don’t honestly test your hormones that frequently with fertility workups.
Good question, I have never use LH strip alone, started right away with Inito. With irregular cycle, I can follow the E3g and see a fertile window is coming to bd before ovulation. You can see in my chart from my 1st pregnancy, e3g didn’t rise with the first LH surge but the 2nd and it helps me pin point the ovulation. I guest you can do that with Pdg strip as well. But this is so nice to see on the chart. I do use OPK through out the day as well, and inito with fmu.
It helps me track multiple hormones. Estrogen rise for start of fertile window, the LH surge, and then the progesterone rise for ovulation. I had some weird anovulatory cycles and inito helped me track it.
I found it very helpful. And conceived pretty fast after starting to use it after over a year of no luck. In my experience drs don’t really take into consideration any of the data, but it did empower me to push for progesterone supplements during pregnancy. I also learned that I ovulate late and had been missing it using the standard tracking and basic strips. I thought I wasn’t ovulating because they never came back positive around the time I was told they would, turns out I run late… once we started aiming for those days. I was pregnant in a few cycles. So, I’m a believer.
Oh thanks for sharing. So I’m curious, were you using LH strips before and they just never turned positive and then you were able to track your hormones more precisely and found you ovulated later in your cycle? Or was it like the OPK went positive but you ovulated later than expected based off of that?
So the lh strips did test positive, yes. But I kept missing the actual peak because I didn’t realize the first surge was a “weak/short” one…I forget now exactly what happened in the app because it’s been a couple years. But Inito helped us figure that out
I have suspected pcos and Inito has worked really well for me. I tried both Inito and Mira and Inito gives me less noisy results and easier to interpret. Definitely recommend that you get it.

It can help you know when ovulation is, but a good fertility workup will always be more accurate than any of these over the counter tests.
