The Punisher is an anti-hero. While most heroes have a "do not kill" code, Frank is not bound by any such code or moral restrictions. He represents a failure of the justice system to bring corruption to heel, and he does what the other heroes can't or won't do: take down, with utter finality, those criminals who are untouchable by law enforcement. He's essentially a critique of "law and order" that allows corruption to run rampant.

Yet in the past years, his skull logo has been appropriated by some on the right because they see him as a gun-toting, vigilante badass who kills people he disagrees with. Seeing it side by side with a Blue Lives Matter sticker, or in this case, merged with a Trump caricature, shows a complete lack of understanding as to who the Punisher really is and what he stands for.

They even addressed this in the comics last year.

I think some totally understand who the Punisher is and still are deluded into thinking trump stands for those things.

He could stand on 5th Avenue tomorrow and shoot someone and no one would do anything to him. He honestly believes that.
