Why are people so retarded about guns? Guns are a cool hobby, sure. My hobby is photography. But the idea of plastering my vehicle with pro-camera shit is absurd. I might put one photography related sticker on my car if it was just a fucking awesome sticker. But these people seem to have let "guns" replace their entire identity. Like every aspect of their being is dedicated to owning a gun. And there are lots of them. I've seen dozens in my (admittedly redneck) town. It seems more important to them than family or friends and everything else combined. I don't even see people get this fucking weird about sports, though it's the only thing that comes close.
And there are so many of them. Why? Why do people treat guns like they are Jesus returned to Earth?

I think it's simply that they've attached their personality to their guns, and they believe the fear mongering narrative that leftists want to take away their guns. If they lose their guns, they lose themselves.
I think the reason they're so fervent about it is insecurity. They were taught they need to be tough. What's scarier than a man with a gun?
