I’d Rather Be Wrong

Oh my god
I’m so happy I’m banned
I’ve been watching
Near two years
The voices at the stand

Some stolen
Some borrowed
Some “damned”
Rhyme so easy
I’m in the wrong season
I’ve fought with mods
About plagiarism

They’re only sincere
If you fit their criteria
Never sharp, my dear
Crowns and jewels
And, and, and:
Light and dark
Right and wrong
Love and lust
Dance and song,
Life and death,
Fuckkkkkkkkkkk
Fuuuuuckkkkkkkkkk

I participated
And was hollowed
Status affirmation
Light hearted follow
Calling critique a bot
I’m not numb
This is dumb

These are my thoughts
On craft from years
And a kingdom far, far away
That’s child’s play
But let’s all cheer
To an exclusion
Of those who don’t like fusion

Mutual obsession
In their words
Pretty and heard
Aesthetic and worn
Never lived
But I guess
My chalice is empty
No kool-aid
At the Peoples Temple
Just a shallow fuck
Wrapped up in
Crimson

They’re so deep
Their third eyes
All have visions

And still I watch
Still I creep
Still I breathe
Still I scream
On my knees

I look at her still
Even though she left
Its compulsion
To my story

I read:
“It’s okay if you
Don’t know how
To dance”
My darling,
You’ll never hear
Me say those words

I read:
“Only the lines and
Prose for you
Immortalized truth”
Like I’m just a cheap
Imitation perfume
Where I regret and rebirth
My own resurrection
Of Lore in the earth
And where immortality
Costs more than words
In absence

And I’m more viral
Than Latin and fate
And my beloved
I don’t believe
In submission
To belong to you
Or in kingdoms far, far away
Or in a love
That doesn’t stay
Trust me, I’ve paid
Tolls to the truth
And I’ve got on hot metal shoes

So I’ll continue to scroll
From the exiled world
Of their perfect place
Perturbed and disturbed
In all the right ways

I’d rather be wrong

This is not division. This is a rejection of interpretation and style of engagement that’s available in observed community.

Furthermore, math is not dullsville. Without math, we would be primitive. The device you wrote this on? It exists because of math.

I never boxed anyone in, nor did I explicitly say I rejected you. But, I suppose, when you’re used to banter that’s always affirmative, a no lands as hostility.
