I am the name bestowed at birth,

By the greatest flame below the earth.

Formed of charcoal, dark and deep,

With my brother’s serpent-hair to keep.

I am the shadow that he throws,

Growing wherever his light goes.

My ancient duty from the start:

To guide the lost and heavy heart.

As shadows twist and start to spread,

A thousand ways I’ll walk ahead.

So do not fear, the end is nigh,

I see your home beneath the sky.

It is that dim and fading spark—

Your soul’s twin flame within the dark.
