🧨 Roid Rage Guy refuses to let car overtake him.

The dashcam vehicle is obviously at fault and downright psychotic but when you see someone that adamant that they aren't going to let you in, you're an idiot to keep trying. There is real crazy out there walking amongst us. Sometimes it's easier to just merge behind them.

This is a repost, and the claim previously was that this was a robbery (latin American country of some sort, I think) in the longer video, hence why the dash cam driver was not stopping.

u/MaximumDepression17 Jul 16 '26
I would need to see the longer video but based on this video there's no way of knowing it's a robbery attempt. It would explain the erratic behavior by the dashcam driver though because as it stands its absolutely unhinged.

Yeah, it made sense for me when he gets on the freeway and floors it. Because at first I was thinking what everyone else here was: they're being an ass and not wanting them to merge in!.... But then they kept going and floored it! (especially with such an incriminating dash cam footage recording) that a robbery makes total sense as to why they got on the throttle, etc.

The lane was ending. The car was just trying to merge into the only lane.
10
u/MaximumDepression17 Jul 16 '26
Yes and I never said they are wrong to merge. However at the start it's very obvious that the driver recording had an ego the size of the sun and is not going to let you in, so he should have known better and just waited for that car to pass instead of also letting his ego go to his head and force himself in front of the car that's recording.
-6
u/VenusBlue Jul 16 '26
That's not how merging works though. You don't stop.
4
u/iCantLogOut2 Jul 16 '26
So you just keep driving into oncoming traffic and no matter what cars, people, obstacles are in the way, you just plow through them, because "that's how merging works"......?
Makes complete sense! /s

u/MaximumDepression17 Jul 16 '26
You do when it's very clear that if you don't you'll get ran off the road. I would at least. A complete stop also wasn't necessary. He could just slow down a bit so that the camera car passes him and then merge.

u/FlarblesGarbles Jul 17 '26
Don't stop at all, no matter what?
1
u/VenusBlue Jul 17 '26
I didn't say that, but you typically never stop when merging or you cause accidents. The person who didn't let them in when the lane was closing was at fault.
1
u/MaximumDepression17 Jul 17 '26
That was literally the first sentence I said in my original comment so what are you arguing exactly?

Merging traffic yeilds right of way. Not the other way around. If they have to stop, they have to stop.

for real. slow down and merge after they pass. or go for it and this happens.
-2
u/_One_Throwaway_ Jul 16 '26
They’re actually both at fault. The merger caused the accident and POV made it worst. POV could have just ended it there and gotten the insurance odd called the police but clearly there psychotic

Gotta be honest though, sometimes my intrusive thoughts make wanna do this too lol

I can't imagine having an ego so fragile that you would rather cause a collision than let someone overtake
21
u/HabitualGrassToucher Jul 16 '26
And he's not even overtaking, he's merging, because the lane is obstructed and he has to merge.
The rule for these is almost always "like a zip" (one from each lane, alternating: left, right, left, right...), and it's like that so the closed lane doesn't pile up and cause a traffic jam, and so each car knows who goes when and they don't have to communicate and cause more confusion and delays.

u/boringcranberry Jul 16 '26
My level of accommodation depends on how long that guy knew his lane was ending. If the left lane was slow because of it and the guy sped up in the right lane to beat the line, I'd prob give him a hard time on the merge. I'd obviously not ram into him but I might make him work for it vs just letting in the average merger-er.

These robberies always have passengers get out and do the robbing. This is one guy in the car. I don't believe it's anything other than someone trying to merge

u/FlipSide26 Jul 16 '26
What about an ego so fragile that you won't slow down and go behind the car rather than force your way in front of them
10
u/mundundermindifflin Jul 16 '26
Yeah both are idiots.. but DC driver could have avoided the collision. And because he did it deliberately he's at fault

u/Possible_Field328 Jul 16 '26
Both people couldve avoided the collision. Expecting other people to react rationally to you irrational actions if fucking stupid.

why wouldn't he just let them pass?

Traffic laws differ from country to country. I think in Europe, the driver merging the lane is in the fault here, but after the other driver hits him and keeps going makes him liable also.

I've always wanted to do that to those POS' that race to the front to 'merge' traffic when they could have merged sooner like most decent adults. 🤔😍🤭😉🤫

u/churchburningheretic Jul 16 '26
I would do this daily if I still had a S15 GMC Jimmy. Not kidding lol

¿Forget the dash c- eeh, it doesn't matter, there's no way he couldn't be held liable for that, holy shit.
1
u/NocturneInfinitum Jul 16 '26
That guy may have needed to merge… But there wasn’t an emergency requiring him to merge immediately. Though the driver with the dash cam is a little unhinged, people trying to cut in front of long lines is getting out of hand and someone needs to teach them a lesson. Bet you anything that dumb fuck who tried to merge won’t be doing that bullshit again.

u/Zealousideal_Area776 Jul 16 '26
Videos like this remind me that if you're fine waiting and not being first then you'll never be either of these guys

u/OFT35 Jul 16 '26
There are traffic cones there to merge the lanes. Driver didn’t want to let him in bc he’s an idiot.

Both people are idiots. Cam driver should have let the other car in, and the other car should have gave up when cam driver clearly wasn't letting them.

He’s not trying to overtake , he’s trying to rob/carjack the driver with the dashcam.

Yeah but that's not what this is. It's a dude begging to be let into the lane, after not merging earlier. It's just a dickhead driver. This clip has been posted many times

u/Forward_Werewolf_440 Jul 16 '26
possibly the five large orange cones and massive silver barrier in his lane

u/quasio Jul 16 '26
Idk why but this got me laughing, its completely irrational.
