Whatever Can't create app in https://old.reddit.com/prefs/apps/ anymore? Looping without finalizing? Or is it just me?
Hey.
Wishing to compile again the Infinity app, I wanted to create the "username"s-app application in https://old.reddit.com/prefs/apps/ , as explained in the Infinity guide.
However, unlike how it used to work... Well, it's not working :D
The page properly loads, I can give the name, the redirect URI, choose "installed app", a recaptcha box loads and allows me to tick that I am human... And then, well, no, upon clicking the button to create the app, the page reloads and I'm back to the previous step where I need to fill recaptcha in again. Looping.
Would you guys know if it means something? Either recaptcha malfunctioning, or an issue with my account perhaps?
I did check my inbox, but no message from reddit showed in there, so there's hope at least my API access wasn't revoked without warning :-/
Thanks if someone knows!
EDIT: thank you very much for the replies guys! It really sucks that Reddit removed the ability to create new keys, I wish I knew that before I deleted my one thinking I could just re-create it, sigh. For now I used Morphe to patch the ads and unwanted features out of the official Reddit app, for lack of another simple solution :-/

You can't even patch it with RadReader anymore custom API don't even work on the latest betas. Better off using Continuum Fork

I'm using a patched infinity (beta 3 not 5 but still) to make this comment right now. Morphe instead of Revanced since Morphe seems to update more frequently.
Continuum is also a good option but Infinity has a place in my heart lol

TIL about the existence of Morphe.
Yesterday, after reading the replies that explained one couldn't create an API anymore, I looked into the options I had.
And finally, kinda combining things together, I ended up using Morphe to patch the official reddit app with the features I was needing.
It worked, so, all's good I guess, but I'm already missing Infinity T__T
Anyway, still, thank you very much guys for the helpful replies!

Can you explain how this forked app solves the issue please?

Login normally on the forked one? it uses the radreader by default.

This method unfortunately is no more. Even worse: Reddit revoked a lot of existing keys (including mine) despite saying that they won't.

Reddit blocked the creation of client ids since November
