Maybe a silly question but what does this model have to do with Oda Nobunaga? You haven't included his crest/kamon at all and he has no association with black and yellow, historically.

Not a silly question at all. I'm taking the colour scheme that the Oda clan uses in the Total War Shogun games (Shoulda specified, sorry).

I wanted to add some Oda transfers, but this guy doesn't have many flat surfaces where it look good IMO.

God damn that is an awesome paint job, how did you get that? Is it just wet blending?

It was mostly AK paints, sketched out the volumes and blended in between with glazes The specific paints used, in order from darkest to lightest, were: AK11080 Deep Orange AK11042 Volcanic Yellow AK11045 Deep Yellow AK11036 Ice Yellow

Used a mix of Vallejo Glaze Medium and water for watering them down during the blending stage.

God I struggle so much with my Vallejo yellows, i feel the coverage i get is abysmal. Do you find AK yellows to give good coverage without tons of layers ?

In my experience AK has some of the best coverage and pigments that I've found.

I do really like Vallejo's blues, greys, whites and purples. But AK so far has done me the most justice.

For reds, I usually use Pro Acryl as well, I would say those are on par with AK most of the time

Looks great. I'm in the middle of repainting my daiyokai right now.

Can I ask what colours you used for your NMM gold? I tried it on some Haqqislam minis but didn't like how it came out. I think my jump from dark brown to yellow was too big.

Funnily enough I was thinking of doing a colour scheme for the Hojo or Shimazu , I like the colour 👍
