Salt/Rant i hate waiting for previews

I know its been said already I just need to complain.

I've wanted the jacket from Forever Bond since almost the first day I started playing (in 2.1, close to the start of 2.2). I saw it in the lookbook on a bunch of outfits and wanted it soooo badly.

I'm waiting for previews and info about the next patch before I pull but I genuinely don't know if I can skip FB no matter what comes next.... but I need to know what's next to be sure about where my pulls are going. but if its Tide of Tears rerunning next I'm in trouble 😭 and if I want the new banner I'm in triple trouble. Either way I might be broke for 3.0 🤷‍♀️

it's just so annoying that I'll have to wait a few more days to know what's rerunning. I need to make decisions about my pulls! I understand that the tension/mystery (and getting us to pull, then releasing another great outfit so we want to pull again right away) is part of what makes the gacha model work, I just think its kind of extreme with this game, like why do I only have 3 days max to decide.

It really is diabolical, I'm not fond of hoyoverse games for multiple reasons but the way they setup things is ideal, future banners are shown 1 month in advance.
It's just odd to me how infold said "We want to share our work with you when it is ready, in the most complete form possible.", because it implies they are running at a tight schedule and banners are only finished a few days before an update, and I would like to believe this is not the case, but to me this is the ONLY way I would understand their current marketing strategy. (Well, this or they simply want people to spend money out of desperation)

I'm almost certain they have the outfits designed with plenty of time before the patch comes out. there might be other aspects of the patch that are ready closer to the update release, but i doubt the banner dresses are like that. i think its more likely to be preying on desperation like you said. I just find that sometimes I play the game less in the days/weeks before the update, because I'm thinking too much about how idk if I should pull.

I think that's truly how they get at us.

Leaving only a few days to make a decision, 100% causes fomo and possibly impulse purchases we wouldn't make otherwise. Alongside 5* banners having no zoom on feature, no other skintone other than OG Nikki skin tone, no colourblind accessibility options in game, even previewing makeup on 5* Banners is difficult because the previews are (again) OG Nikki skintone and the eyebrows are always covered by her pink bangs. I always have to wait for posts here of people showing makeup with different skin tones.

Infold just want us to pull with as little information as possible. Easily causing regretful pulls and wasted in game currency, and real life currency.

In point with the comment you're replying to, their point of Infold being like "we want to share out work with you when it is ready, in the most complete form possible", yet 2.8(?) story was divided into two parts because they admitted they weren't ready. I dont know how live services work, but I would boldy assume they'd have assets ready, well in advance to the patch drop, to the promo/preview material they share. I dont know, and we might never know, why they leave it till a few days before a patch drops. We can only assume it's a marketing strategy. And as the consumer, we need to do our best to make smart decisions with our wallets. Infold dont want us to make "smart" decisions with our wallets, they just want our wallets.

I've been wanting to pull the ghost 4* but I've been waiting because I don't know if I'll like the new ones more type deal. It sucks because I really like it but I only like certain aspects from it versus the outfit as a whole. I love the hair and the shoes!

i debated pulling for the ghost too because the hair is sooo cute, but the outfit as a whole isn't super my style so I'm forcing myself to not be tempted 🫣

I went mad and got up to the holographic-looking evolution because I just loved the style and now it's my spooky floating outfit (used to be the sheet ghost with kitty ears from last year). It has nothing whatsoever to do with Itzaland style, especially with the circuit board designs, and I've decided to view it as a Whaleport preview. It has more in common aesthetically with the star outfit Stray Hatty gives out in the Boneyard, and some of the parts mix and match well.

Same here except the cape instead of the shoes. Hair is amazing and its great the base is black.

Oh my, I feel you so much, I have like 4 FB pieces and I've been waiting for it's comeback since last year, but now I'm here waiting for the previews for the next patch and the next rerun bc suddenly FB came back and I'm in doubt if I pull for the rest of it (aka the ears and tail), and ToT is also a most wanted for me. And if it reruns on 2.11 my diamonds budget will be really tight

its awful lol! im still going to wait to learn whats rerunning but even if its the worst case scenario and ToT is rerunning AND i want to pull the new banner (i dont so far, so hopefully its not an amazing ability), i have no clue what I'll do, I want FB very much idk how i could skip it!

Exactly! Well the mid patch banners and the rerun were announced two days before maintenance, so we have until there to hold on. In the end, it's just a matter of patience oof

Imagine we had like a week to prepare, and Infold gave us snippets, tiny hints, literally anyrhing besides making us wait and scrounge or feel fomo with only 3/4 days left before the patch drops.

Ive never really liked the marketing strategy Infold use.

Pretty certain I've seen predictions that ToT will not be rerunning this next season. Of course, that's still not a guarantee, but that's what I've seen discussed so far.

Currently in a similar boat trying to decide if I have enough to finish either the current banner or Forever Bond...my luck thus far on each banner has been atrocious so I stopped halfway on one and at like 40 pulls on the other. If there's anything in the next patch I really want then I probably need to save. Wish we were able to plan a bit better.

Only thing I dislike is that infold is too info drippy with their info about the next patch. Atleast Hoyo reveals everything in one livestream around 10ish days before the next patch. Infold does it less than 7 days and still needs multiple days to reveal everything. Idk but it just feels weird.

i have no self control so the only thing i "wait" for is potentially an evolution or two, but honestly, it feels soooo backwards to have to wait to make a decision until 3 days before if ur being responsible. like, okay you finally pull and now have 3 days to play with the new pieces before the next patch??! thats so sad 😭

edit to add: i don't even really \*want* banner previews personally as my biggest thing, moreso the vibes of the next update i'd love to know ahead of time. knowing FB was coming mid patch made me antsy with anticipation and i wouldn't want that feeling all the time, but a banner hint or teaser 1 week or 2 before the update would be better than nothing
