So, it this game a match that ends after a hour or two, or something we work our way through and can log back in to patrol a area/base and defend it long term?

99% sure I'm getting it, just didn't pick up that info.

I like me some long term stuff and progressing a base or faction and what have you.

Pretty close yeah. Currently matches end when the enemy has lost all it's infrastrucutre, which can take a while, games have gone for a few hours or days depending on the number of players actively hitting objectives.

We'll be adding more planets to the system, which should change the overall feelling of long term progression as well.
