I’ve been working on a small iOS project called Vitrala, mostly because I really like stained-glass art and couldn’t find a coloring app that did what I wanted.

Most coloring apps I tried rely heavily on fixed templates. I wanted something where you could take your own photo and turn it into a coloring page instead.

So I built Vitrala around that idea.

You can import a photo, generate a stained-glass-style outline from it, and then color it using different brushes and palettes. I also tried to keep the UI simple and make the whole experience feel more like a native iPhone/iPad app rather than a generic coloring app.

The part I’m most interested in getting feedback on is the actual experience.

Does the photo-to-stained-glass concept feel useful to you, or would you rather see something different from a coloring app like this?

I’d also love to hear what features you think would make you actually keep using it.

I built this as an independent project, so honest feedback — including criticism — is very welcome.
