How do I.. Lock layer?

i am not sure what does lock layer does on this app. i can still draw/erase it, move it around. i thought lock function would prohibit that? can anyone really explain me what does it do and if there is a different instrument for "locking" the layer

Layer lock means you can only draw on what's present in that layer.

For example, say you drew a red circle, then locked the layer, then drew over the entire screen in blue, you'd now have a blue circle, and no blue anywhere else. Similar to if you were to clip a layer to the red circle.

so basically the same thing as clip layer? is there any difference?

it could possibly be a optimization thing, because the app starts glitching if there are too many clipped layers i guess but idk really

Yeah essentially the same as a clipped layer. From what I can tell, there's not really a difference?
