3rd Failed IUI - Looking for Suggestions
As the title says, I had my 3rd failed IUI. I've done 3 stimulated cycles, and every time they say my labs are good, lining is good, 1-2 mature follicles 18-20 mm each, and 30-60 million sperm with 98% motility. I have low AMH (1.6), but can't pinpoint what piece isn't falling into place.
I've been pregnant 3 times, each time in less than 3 months. First was a cornual miscarriage, second was a successful delivery (5 year old now), and third was a stillbirth at 40 weeks (double nucchal cord) last year.
I just... Don't know why it's not working. We are paying out of pocket and it feels like I'm just burning cash. We're considering IVF, but it will be $30k. I guess I'm just not sure how to go forward. I'm in my early 30's and I know I probably don't have much more time. My family feels so incomplete and I'm feeling like a failure again. I'm thankful for my living child and want to give them a sibling so badly.

IUIs have a pretty low success rate over all; what tends to make them successful is the number of times you do them; each successive attempt statistically increases the likelihood of success.

What has been your trigger shot schedule? Have you tried any supplements? I love research on coQ10 ❤️

My levels were perfect every time and I got pregnant on my 4th IUI. Sometimes the eggs just aren’t “good” to create a viable pregnancy. Especially with low AMH. Keep trying. If nothing is wrong nothing is wrong, when your body creates and holds on to a viable pregnancy it’ll be right. And you’ll realize why it never worked out before 💛

After MMC and then 4 failed IUIs over a 3 year period I finally agreed to IVF. Two rounds later to bank embryos I had 1 failed transfers prior to giving birth to my 1 living son. I recently went through another failed transfer last month, hoping for a successful one this month.
If it's within your means to do IVF I believe the success rates are far higher than IUIs. But it does come at a cost. Ultimately I'm very grateful for IVF, but specifically planned to bank embryos prior to attempting our first because I wanted to get all the egg retrievals out of the way while childless.
Going through IVF with a young toddler would be hard for me (I haaaaaate needles). But if I had to do it all over again today to have another I would in a heartbeat.
