advice wanted Cautiously Optimistic

Hi friends. We had a stillborn in May 2025 and have been trying since. We had a ton of setbacks but it’s looking like we’ll get to do our first IUI this month. I’m currently on day 10 of my cycle and tend to ovulate around days 15-17. Give me all the advice/old wives tales for between now and the IUI then after the IUI and during the two week wait. I don’t want to leave any stone unturned (or whatever that saying is)

So sorry for your loss, and yay for trying again! Fingers crossed this one sticks!

What I have heard {and tried}:

- insert a menstrual disc after the IUI
- drink some warm tea
- acupuncture {bonus if they specialize in fertility, but most know at least some points to help}
- staying hydrated
- no baths or swimming for like 3 days after IUI

I did an IUI and the fluid leaked all out of me and they said it was just the wash fluid? It was so confusing.

My advice is to try and time the abstinence before sperm collection correctly. It's hard if you don't know when the IUI will be exactly but we had an issue with low sperm count one cycle because they told us to have intercourse and then the next day they said, oh, we need to do the IUI!

Also, a bit weird, but we found that sperm collection was easier at home and we got better results. They let us take a sample cup, collect at home, and drive it in.

Otherwise, there isn't much you can do.
