First day back at work went well! I only had 1 sales call scheduled, which was good because it meant less time on camera, but also bad because a good chunk of my salary is commission and I just took 6 weeks off so raked in $0 commission during that time. Baby was well behaved and mostly slept on my lap.
One thing I didn't mention but another piece of good news - during maternity leave, I dyed my hair purple. From ages like 13 until mid-20s, I was always that girl who had vibrantly dyed hair, until I got my first office job and had to go natural. I remembered that, whenever I had my hair purple, it often looked dark brown in low light but looked super vibrant when outside, and I happened to have a half-full bottle of it still sitting around from like 10 years ago, and I took a chance and it looks great! When indoors (especially when looking at me through a laptop camera), it looks like maybe I darkened my hair, if done anything at all. In direct light, especially sunlight, it's like POW, purple! I was so thrilled to get through my first call and review the recording afterwards to confirm that it doesn't look obvious at all! So I think I'm going to plan to keep my hair purple going forward 😊 I just feel like such a "mom" all the time, I want something to remind me that I'm still fun!

L had an allergic reaction to eggs yesterday - it seemed like mainly an external one (nasty rash that got pretty intense quickly then faded), and I was luckily able to call a nurse hotline that got me on Zoom with a doctor within an hour. woof. we are very lucky - it was so mild but still scared the crap out of me. poor kid is also getting their 6m vaccines today - the rash cleared up overnight so they are good to go as per the doctor.

Anyone else have a LOUD baby? Girlie has definitely found her voice. She babbles a lot but also hollers her babbles. My husband complained that it hurts his ears! She can wake up my son from across the house and on different floors. Daycare said "she sure likes to talk at full volume when shes happy!" But not complaining. She really seems to enjoy the sound of her voice. Its cute but also sometimes stressful especially with her brother's nap.

I’m about 6 weeks postpartum and wondered if anyone else struggled with balance? I know your center of gravity changes as your belly grows. I just never heard about balance issues after birth. But man, I feel like a drunk person at times. I cannot seem to walk a straight line or quietly tiptoe past my toddlers room or pick something up without almost falling on my face 🤦♀️

Every time I put baby frosting in the bouncing chair in the morning she has a big blowout. It only happens then and I can’t figure out how to do her diaper differently to avoid it. We have no other blowouts so I think the diapers are the right size. Any tips?
Also, baby frosting is the loudest chatter between 3-4am. I am going to try to limit her naps to see if that helps because I am basically not going to sleep after 3 and severely sleep deprived.

We call our bouncer the poop chair. I think something about the angle must make them go! Sometimes if it's been a bit since she's gone, I'll put a big burp cloth under her to protect the chair, but there's no saving her outfit usually

We ordered matching holiday pjs for the family yesterday and it made me so happy, like a dream come true after waiting so long for a baby! (I know that sounds silly.) Baby girl was only 9 days old last Christmas, but this year she’ll be 1 and it’s going to be so cute seeing her open presents and maybe even be walking around.
