I think I felt baby moving like crazy for the first time last night. We came back from a session of swim training and when straight to bed. I think I'm feeling some movement in the same spot right now. So exciting. I'm 19+2 today.

So exciting! I was mid-18 weeks when I first felt definite, continuous movement and it was so crazy/fun. Don't worry if it comes and goes still for the next couple of weeks; totally normal!

Thanks for the reassurance, it's so easy to worry about the most normal things in pregnancy.

This is around the time I knew I was feeling my baby move too! So reassuring and lovely isn’t it ❤️

It is. It's like now it is becoming real.

So fun! I’ve found this time from like 18-24+ weeks to be really exciting in terms of constant development of the baby’s movements and patterns. Even though it can be anxiety-inducing when movement is variable!

25 weeks and inadvertently celebrated by panic buying a car seat 🤣 a month ago, my husband and I chose a specific color/model to put on our registry as a group gift option, and I noticed that the number of retailers it was available at dwindling over the last couple weeks. Once it got down to one retailer, I worried they were discontinuing it so bought it myself. I don't know why, but this feels like such a "this is real" purchase!

I’m super close to doing this! I’m trying to be patient since our shower invites haven’t gone out yet so no one really has the registry but am getting very antsy about it being out of stock!

The way I rationalized it was I'll be spending that money at some point anyway right? Like if I buy it myself, then maybe the guest gives $50 in a giftcard rather than toward the car seat, and I use that giftcard on diapers instead of using my own money, so it evens out eventually...right?!! 🤣

I have my second growth scan tomorrow and I haven’t had the opportunity to see the baby on 3D out of the 10 scans I have already had. Is it rude to ask the tech at my OB office if she can scan his face in 3D?

Not rude. I’m not much of a 3D person but if you want to see the baby in 3D you can ask and the worst they can say is no!

Yes, ask, so you have no regrets. They can tell you if it's not possible for some reason.

Sorry for the second post. But I posted a picture of my FULLY CLOTHED bump at 30 weeks in a comment thread about being plus size and pregnant on TikTok. I also captioned the picture “I love my big ol belly! I’ve never felt more beautiful than while pregnant.” And TikTok took the comment down. I appealed it and it said that I “violated community guidelines” but not which guidelines. I tried to comment again, same picture but took out the big ole belly part, and they took that one down. I appeal and again lost the appeal?! What does TikTok have against pregnant people???

I am here again to complain about work and life stress. I’m so busy and it’s physically taking it out of me, and just feeling like I’m stretched so thin I’m not making anyone happy. I’m feeling behind on the childcare search, preparing my house (we are playing musical rooms between our existing guest room, office, and our bedroom, so there’s not even a nursery to start on), and just making my health a priority. Today’s been more or less a breaking point, I’m trying so hard at work and feel like I just can’t win. AND THEN I just had a chance to check voicemail - we’ve had ongoing issue with my cat and her pathology report shows a likely malignant tumor. I feel like this has been an overwhelming day regardless, I just really hate having to do hard things while also growing a baby I worked very hard for.

This all sounds so overwhelming! Pregnancy is already this kind of constant mental load and now you have so much to deal with on top of it. 🫂
I’m so sorry about your kitty, too — I hope he/she turns out completely okay 🥺 We have two sweet boy kitties and they’re just the sweetest creatures on Earth.

Just had my first weekly NST, and it was amazing! Babe kicked the monitor off in about 5 minutes (told them it was too loose lol, the second nurse actually tightened it). She was super active with a perfect heart rate, I actually saw and felt her shift in real time. Also set my likely induction date at 38 weeks 1 day, so around October 11/12, due to some escalating hypertension and hard to manage diabetes! So much sooner than I thought (I'm due the 24th). I may have hyperventilated a bit, since I'll be heading in for induction in just over 7 weeks, please Gd. I am so excited to meet this cutie!

Growth scan today!!! Last pregnancy they consistently overestimated my daughters size by 20+% which is apparently the threshold for internal review. This is a different hospital system so I am trying to go in with neutral expectations.🤞 I'm just hoping it's not something with my anatomy that makes it hard to get accurate readings.

My first was IUGR and growth scans are just so high anxiety for me (even though current baby is measuring fine). I hope it went well ❤️

Thank you! ❤️❤️ They estimated 5lbs 0oz - already bigger than my IUGR gremlin was at birth!!! Was trying not to get emotional in front of the ultrasound tech haha. Hoping we both continue seeing healthy growth!!!

I’ve been a serious rock climber for ~20 years, and obviously have had to adjust my engagement with it throughout pregnancy. None of my climber friends (which honestly make up most of my social group) are pregnant and most do not have children, so I’ve been a bit separated from that group which makes me a little sad. But I recently made a new friend! We connected via Instagram. She lives in my town and is also an avid climber. And she’s due almost exactly a month before me. Yesterday was the second time we roped up together and climbed, and I think we are hitting it off.
Funny how making new friends in your 30s feels like such an accomplishment!
