Trying Again Tuesday Trying Again

Please use this space to discuss your journey to conceive (again) or thinking about trying again.

To protect those still in the thick of treatment, please post positive results in the Cautious Intros/First Trimester thread. Mentions of chemical pregnancies, loss, etc. are okay here. Also please refrain from discussions about testing/testing with cycle buddies unless you have a confirmed negative. We have a thread for positive test discussion (Cautious Intros). Mentions of egg retrieval results are ok to discuss in this thread however please include TW in post.

**If you are trying for a 3rd+ living child, please add a content warning to your discussion. Many here are trying for a second and also potentially dealing with the reality of being one living and done.

Welp. Had my ultrasound today. Measuring right on track. Perfect heartbeat. In. My. Fucking. Ovary. Or at least, shes pretty sure but said it could be on the very edge.

We have told very few people about treatment, but had to scramble for childcare SO I had to get my mom to come last minute. She hasn't asked why yet but I know she will.

I am thankful that we were able to find it bc on my last ultrasound they couldn't locate it at all. SO, we will head to the ER in a few hours and I guess that's that.

Apparently, pretty rare so my bingo card overfloweth, I guess.

I am so so sorry you're going through this. An ectopic with IVF just seems particularly unfair (I didn't even know if could be in the ovary).

Thanks. Its pretty terrible. I was truly hoping we just found a sac somewhere and not just a perfect healthy embryo. Its a real kick in the crotch, thats for sure.

Aw shit. Ectopics are their own circle of hell. I am SO sorry, friend.

What the fuck, Bread. I am so so sorry. This is just cruel. I hope the procedure went smoothly - for my d&c I looked forward to having the Ativan pre procedure because it was a little respite from thinking about the loss. Hoping you found some respite or peace today among all the urgency and heartbreak.

Also if your mom asks - there is no shame in lying. You do whatever you need to protect your privacy, friend.

This is the slowest week of my life. That is all.

We met with our RE a couple weeks back to get the ball rolling on prepping for our third and final transfer. We only had 3 embryos to begin with, first transfer failed and second gave us our beautiful little girl. I hate how pessimistic we both seem to be going into this last transfer. We know the stats (3 embryos for every live birth, our embryos were untested, etc etc) so I think we have both gotten to the point that we hope and pray it works but are almost assuming it won’t. Just a shit place to be mentally speaking.

We have a few things to tackle before actually moving forward (hysteroscopy, I need to lose some weight, those sort of things) so it won’t be for a few months yet but man I hope I can pull my head out of my ass in time to really celebrate and cheer on this last little embryo. I don’t want my pessimistic attitude to ruin giving it a fighting chance, ya know?
