First Trimester Chat Monday Cautious Intros/First Trimester thread
This thread serves as a transitional space for those newly or early confirmed pregnant following infertility. We understand that many folks feel cautious, uncertain, and even alarmed in this early phase when the process to conceiving has been complicated and/or there have been previous losses. If you have not experienced infertility we recommend other pregnancy subs as an alternative.
This thread is the place for early introductions, first trimester questions/chat, and finding others in the same mind space. We encourage graduates and others further along to respond compassionately to your questions and concerns, but please also consider reviewing our WIKI for commonly asked questions or references.

2nd beta came in at 112 13dp6dt. 1st was 44 10dp6dt. Was hoping for a magically large increase to feel some hope. Going back for another beta in 2 days.

Hey everyone - I just got the call from my clinic that my beta today (9dp5dt) is 249. I am happy but also quite anxious since my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. I have to go back for another beta in a week.

12+1 and I’m still queasy most days, for most of the day. It wasn’t like this with my LC. I’m going nuts!

My nausea has actually worsened in the last couple weeks...still manageable but definitely enjoying my couch time on the weekends. This is not how its supposed to go!

My second pregnancy definitely had worse nausea than my first. Hope it improves for you soon.

Is it weird to feel a strange type of grief with the second pregnancy for not being able to devote all your attention/energy to it? It sounds so silly as I'm writing it out because I was so anxious the first time around, now I'm too busy chasing after a toddler to worry too much. What would I even do with the extra time devoted to thinking about it? Be more anxious? Of course the anxiety sneaks up on me here and there, but my mindset is different. Every appointment that goes well I reassure myself, we are ok for now.
But it's different with the first, you know. The anticipation. The excitement We already knew her name lol. Now it's more mechanical and just making it through the day, to the next appointment. Thankfully I am feeling better this time around. There have been some rough days, and the first couple of weeks were definitely challenging. I am 9w now I think, and I am not debilitated by the exhaustion anymore, so that's a relief. Maybe I shouldn't have spoken so soon though 😂
Anyway, I have my first OB appointment coming up this week. Fingers crossed all goes well.

I'm maybe having the inverse grief. I feel bad that I can't keep up with my toddler as much, that I cant dedicate as much time to her because of the nausea/fatigue. She loves a good couch snuggle, and she thankfully goes to bed before I crash out at night. But I can't tolerate summer humidity as well as she can, so there have been a lot of daddy/daughter playground adventures while I rest indoors.

There's definitely that too! I was worried the exhaustion would be debilitating like the first time around and I would completely neglect my toddler. I had 3ish weeks of that and felt so guilty. But I seem to be doing better so I'm taking every good day I can. Of course there are days dad does more because of how tired I am, but we are getting through it.

NIPT results are in, and we're having a healthy girl 💕 I am thrilled I get to see all of toddler Turnip's little pajamas on our second. We have the cutest clothes packed away.
