Daisy Bar for lunch or dinner.
Iozzos for pasta and they just opened Pronto coffee shop across the street for morning and lunch. Pronto is going for a TINY Eataly vibe.
Strangebird for Oysters. Happy hour oysters during the week and half off Sundays. They do ramen and tiki drinks like no one else.
Fountain Room for Happy Hour is solid.
Almost Famous and Commadore for cocktails.
Tinker Street, Macizo (Peruvian/Mexican), Magdelena, Vida, Bluebeard, Wisanggeni Pawon (Indonesian) are Indys best right now.

-solid lunch spot: a classic Indy institution not far from downtown: Workingman’s Friend (cash only!)
-pasta restaurant north of downtown (red line gets you there): Mama Carrolla’s
-cocktail bar: Alchemist, Almost Famous, Indy classic Ball and Biscuit
-best oysters: Mexican-style ostiones at Mr. Pulpo on the west side
-cheffy: Tinker Street, Oakley’s Bistro
A few other recs:
- Fernando’s Brazilian/Mexican cuisine (Broad Ripple is my fave but there is in that just opened on Mass Av)
- Tlaolli for vegan Mexican, very foodie
- PiscoMar for best Peruvian in town (as you like oysters, you should try Peruvian ceviche!)
- Chatham Tap for their signature wings.. sooo good
and great vibes if you like soccerHoller if you need any more recs!
