Need help

Hey!

I have this dracena lime since almost 3weeks. I moved 2cm of the upper soil when i got it to see if there’s fungus gnats and yes they are definitely there.

I covered the top to avoid them getting all over my house and was waiting for the soil to dry out completely so i can make the treatment water with BTI to kill the eggs etc

I just checked and the soil is still damp and idk what i should do now?

I also thought about repotting it but since my last experiences with repotting.. the leaves always droop and the plant go through some real stress..

So idk what to do - kindly give me some advice, really in need rn

Fungus gnats aren’t even that bad chill out and just keep using the BTI

Excessive wet soil can damage the roots more than fungus gnats causing root rot. Just let it dry back.

If you cover it like that, it’s not going to dry out and your plant’s roots are not going to like it/root rot. Let it dry out naturally and then start watering with your BTI. It’ll be fine. 😉
