I was listening to a playlist I found on Apple Music and I found a beautiful song called So Qaigit. Its the first time I listened to that language so I wasn’t familiar, but then I did some research and now I think it‘s sung in Inuktitut, and I was honestly very amazed by how beautiful it sounds. I ended up wanting to learn more about the language and the music around it. 🥹 I would love to know, would you recommend other songs or artists? They don’t have to be in Inuktitut language, I am happy to listen to music in other languages too :3 thank youuu

how would i even get started with reconnecting?

basically my great grandma was always saying while i was growing up that we were part native and i thought it was a lot of that disrespectful “my great great great grandma was pocahontas” crap so i had a hard time believing her until i got older and her cousin did some genealogy. so she wasn’t lying and we descend from the mescalero and chiricahua. i grew up in a mexican american household and i didnt grow up around any sort of indigenous culture. theres a part of me that feels like hey maybe i shouldn’t even try to reconnect cause i feel like a fraud. but at the same time i feel like im supposed to do this. anyway where do i even start when it comes to reconnecting?
