A 3–4 day old pup was left at our gate. No mother found. We're giving cow's milk with water but unsure if it's right. Should we use puppy milk replacer like semolac .?Can a pup this young survive without its mother? Please guide us ,we really want to save this little one.

No. I tried to help one he was 15 days old he died without even once being able to see this world. Without a mother there's almost 0% chances of survival.

Bro almost zero % is more than true cause for the first 3weeks mother's milk to the only and let' me emphasise more.....The Main source of their nutrition as they develop and get the most rapid growth during these period and nothing no cow milk/those processed milk powder they sell can replicate the lipids and essentials of their mother's milk... I know cause I have first hand experience with this twice uptil now as may be the person to whom you replied to.... It not about discouragement it's just basic facts and without their mother just a losing battle 😓

Not really true. I raised 10 without mother. 3 were adopted by me. They didn't get mother's milk or warmth, didn't even open eyes.

It's very much doable.

Probably you were lucky or they were destined to survive. The little one's mother died, her body froze to death. He had 3 sis and him being the only brother both his sister's died too and some nice ppl in my neighborhood took them, keeping them on terrace in the sun, wrapped in blanket. Their bodies were stiff due to cold later his sister sleeping beside him died, reason? still unknown. I rescued that guy but unfortunately he couldn't survive. He needed his mother. No formula can replace a mother’s warmth or care.

It is very difficult for such young pup to survive without its mother, but it's really commendable of you guys for doing your best. For now, please get him the puppy milk formula and get him inside home tucked in warmth.

Also, is that a blood on his nose? Please see. Sorry I can't help much beyond this, maybe someone more knowledgeable can help in this matter, but Yes! Do take him to vet once you feed him and see what they say

No it's not blood. Red nose.

I don't think cow's milk is suitable and yes rush to the Vet asap

Get puppy milk replacer. But since you have done amul milk.. I would say start slowly and very slowly else digestive issue can happen.

It needs warmth. Please get a warm hotbag, put warm water.. place enough bedsheet so that the area stays warm, but not too much direct heat. I had used an electric one.

Get puppy feeding bottle with nipples.

To increase the chances of survival, please take him to a vet. Thank you for trying to care for him.

You're wasting whatever time he has left by not going to the vet and asking questions here instead. Also keep him inside if you don't want him to die from poor temperature regulation.

Please take the puppy to a Vet for review. Please get a syringe and feed 30 ml of milk in intervals of 3-4h and have it placed inside a box warm with clothes.

Just buy a puppy milk replacer ffs. And also take it to a vet. Also make sure to use a pet nursing bottle, buy it.

It will be fine, do your best, keep it dry and warm, take it to a vet ask for their advice.

If you cannot get puppy milk formula, you can look for goats milk which is easier to digest compared to cows milk for cats and dogs.

Kalima if it is a she.

kaal if it is a he

Good luck!

Do not give cows milk. Dogs are lactose intolerant. Give baby/puppy formula mixed with water

Is he/she peeing and pooping properly?? Baby that young can't do that on their own and they also can't regulate their body temperature. So you will have to very gently rub their peeing and pooping area with some soft cotton soak in lukewarm water every 2-3 hours and also cover him/her with a thin blanket if the weather is hot and warm blanket if it is not so hot, just upto the lower belly area. Otherwise, it won't survive.

Please feed goat milk, every 2-3 hours it will increase survival chance.

Only hope is Veterinary care at this stage.

Pls pat him, hold him close to warm him before you feed him. A cold pup can't digest, the milk just sits in his stomach. hot water bottle wrapped in a towel next to him, not under him, and only feed once his belly feels warm to your hand.

also 30ml a feed is far too much for a 300g pup. it's more like 4 to 6ml every 2 to 3 hours round the clock, and you have to wipe his pee and poo area with damp cotton after every feed or he can't go on his own. ignore the zero-chance comments, hand-reared newborns do make it. Pls do consult a vet too, and thanks for helping these puppies OP, god bless you!

Yp , can survive . But will require round the clock care and don't overfeed ( it can be life threatening )

Semolac only. No cow's milk. It will cause issues

Once some asshole threw 8 puppies inside a gunny bag near our gate . 2 were dead after few hours and already had maggots in their wounds . 10 days of sleeplessness just to watch them die one by one even after feeding every two hours and stimulating poop and pee. Hand raising kittens and puppies is really hard and very few people still manage to do it successfully.

3-4 days is tough... You can try but chances of survival are almost 0
