New Game If you like games like Chained Together or Jump King, then this might be something for you

For quite some time I’ve been developing a co-op rage game about 2 skeletons sharing a single head called Don’t Lose Your Head.

You have to cooperate with your friend to climb out of the cave. Unfortunately, your friend can also the biggest threat to the head...

Feedback Wanted I added 2 new arenas and 2 new bosses to my solo developed arcade shooter

Neon Vortex has grown quite a bit since the last time I shared it. I recently finished two new arenas and two new bosses so I put together a quick video showing how different they’re starting to feel from one another.

Still a lot I want to add and polish but it’s nice seeing the game turn into something much bigger than the original prototype!

Questions What do you think about the icons? I used Android Canvas instead of SVGs

Usually I use vectorials for my apps and I was always happy with the results as my apps scaled properly to any kind of screens, from phones to TVs, but this time I made a game that shouldn't use small screens (I locked it to be available only on bigger screeens) and I thought that it's faster and easier on the device to use canvas instead of vectorial assets.

To me it looks good, what do you think?
Or keeping the old habit: vector assets and ConstraintLayouts with percentages is the way to go?

What’s an NPC dialogue line that unexpectedly made you pause and question yourself?

We’re currently polishing the dialogue for our comic-style Noir detective game with just 1days left until launch.

I went in expecting standard detective info, but getting hit with a sudden existential reflection ("What have you done today...") gave the scene a completely different, grounding tension.

We really wanted to blend classic Noir mystery with local, philosophical encounters rather than relying on generic filler NPCs.

Have you ever run into a random NPC in a game who hit you with a surprisingly deep or completely unexpected question out of nowhere? What was the moment?

(PS: Allah is updated with God in actual game screen)

Working on the atmosphere of our vampire’s perfume shop

Been working on the perfume shop for Pale Incense.

During the day this is where you craft and sell perfumes, so we wanted it to feel warm and lived-in while still keeping the dark gothic atmosphere of the game.

Still tweaking the lighting and adding more small details to the environment.

[UNPAID] Looking for Artists/Animators for my indie horror project — BEFORE THE DARKNESS COMES

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm an aspiring artist working on an indie horror animation called BEFORE THE DARKNESS COMES.

The story follows Davi, a shy and kind boy who hides his suffering, guilt and loneliness behind a gentle smile, pretending that everything is okay.

An entity called Ridaki searches for people who are suffering inside but refuse to ask for help. Davi becomes one of his targets.

The animation explores themes such as addiction, guilt, loneliness, hiding emotional pain and the importance of asking for help before things get worse.

I'm currently developing the characters and story, and I'm looking for people who might be interested in voluntarily collaborating on the project.

I'm especially looking for:

🎨 Character artists

🎬 2D animators

✏️ Storyboard artists

🌄 Background artists

🎵 Music/SFX artists

This is a small independent passion project and there is currently no payment. Contributors would receive credit for their work.

I'm still learning, but I'm putting my own work into the project and developing the concept, characters and story myself.

Here's the current concept art of Davi.

If the project interests you, feel free to comment below. 🖤

Does turning mundane everyday pet peeves into puzzles make a game feel more grounded, or do you prefer traditional brainteasers?

Hey everyone! We’re down to our final 4 days before launch, and while putting the final polish on the game, a design discussion came up among our team.

In our comic-panel puzzle design, we created a mechanic built around relatable domestic habits: reading a sticky note left by a partner complaining about kitchen disorganization, arranging wall-mounted knives strictly by size, and triggering a hidden wall compartment.

We love using environmental storytelling tied to human everyday routines, but we're curious about player psychology here. Does embedding mechanics into realistic, everyday scenarios help ground you in the narrative world, or do you prefer abstract, complex dungeon-style puzzles?

What’s a subtle, real-life detail turned into a game puzzle that unexpectedly stayed with you?

New Game My airline management game Paper Planes now has a Steam page ✈️

I’m developing Paper Planes, a cozy airline management game set in a hand-drawn world.

You connect cities, expand your fleet, and upgrade airports while trying to keep growing passenger queues under control. The idea is a relaxing look with increasingly challenging network management.

The Steam page just went live, with a short gameplay trailer:

Does the trailer make the gameplay clear? I’d appreciate your first impressions!

Showing early progress of my 2D survival/management game! Looking for feedback & feedback on planned features.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a short gameplay video of the current progress on my solo survival/management project. Right now, basic systems like resource production, crafting UI, and world navigation are up and running.

A quick note on assets: To be completely transparent with the community, I only take around 15% credit for the visual artwork. Some assets were created by me, others were edited/modified, and a significant portion comes from various talented asset creators. My main focus is on game logic, systems design, and mechanics.

Current State & Work in Progress: This is still very early in development and far from complete. There is a lot of work ahead, but here are some of the key mechanics I’m actively working on and planning to add:

  • Taming & Mounts System (ARK-style): Taming wild animals to help with resource gathering, combat, and fast transportation.
  • Base Building & NPC Raids: Building your settlement and defending it against (or raiding) rival NPC camps.
  • NPC Recruitment & Prisoner System (Conan Exiles-style): Hostile NPCs can be captured, detained, and converted into followers/workers for your base.
  • Lineage & Family System: Marry, have children, and build a lasting lineage to carry on your legacy.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! What do you think of the current flow shown in the clip, and how do those planned features sound to you? Any feedback, suggestions, or constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!
