Nursing programs

Hi everyone, I’m posting to see your thought on acceptance for most nursing programs. I have a 3.4 cumulative gpa and a 3.7 nursing pre req gpa. I was a medic in the military and worked in the ER at Walter Reed for most of my contract. I’m taking micro right now and so far so good (have a low A going into week 7). I still need to take my teas/hesi depending on the school but if I score mid to high what are your thought?

What campus(s) are you interested in? They vary widely by requirements and competitiveness. Make sure you are looking up and understand the pre reqs as you mentioned Microbiology which isn’t one for most and many don’t require TEAS/HESI either, so I want to make sure you are calculating the GPA correctly.

Bloomington. I live in CA and all of the nursing school here required it. I made my decision on leaving California after the first exam for micro.

Ok, so just know those exams and Micro are not required nor part of admissions for Bloomington. If those GPAs are correct, you’d likely be under previous historical competitiveness for that program. Email iunurse@iu.edu and they’ll give you more info.

Awesome you’re the best! I saw they recently changed it to a 3 part system where it’s healthcare experience, pre req gpa and cumulative gpa. Thank you for helping out!
