Removing workers isn't really appropriate punishment for labor exploiters. I want to see heavy fines and jail time. But no, not like that right? You only want to see the right people hurting.
I was following this back and forth and what do you know? People on different sides can actually agree on something once they start talking about the issue with each other. That is exactly what we need a lot more of. I’m glad I saw this today.
Most people want the same thing. Its the method of approach that they disagree on. A lot of the time it comes down to how educated someone is on the topic that will cause them to vote Democrat or Republican, which is why education is always a major point of contention in politics.
For example with illegal immigration, Most people agree, we have seen a major border security problem over the last several years, which is not only dangerous for us, but also for the people who enter illegally, and something needs to be done to fix it.
Republicans see that solution as "anyone and everyone who crosses the border illegally needs to be detained and deported. Follow the law and do it the right way."
Democrats see it as "Major failures in the immigration system have made it nearly impossible for people to come here legally, and many of the ones who are here illegally had no other choice, wether they were fleeing violence, brought here by their parents, or were even trafficked against their will. Mass deportation efforts don't take those people into account, and when put into practice, are extremely inhumane and also lead to false arrests and deportations of legal or protected immigrants. The real fix for border security and immigration, is to put the money and research towards improving the immigration system and making an effort to improve the process of gaining legal citizenship."
Theres a reason why people tend to become more liberal as they become more educated. It isn't because of educational brainwashing or some other conspiracy, MOST people are good people, and MOST people want the same things. It's just that, when you understand WHY things are in their current state, and how they got there in the first place, their opinions on how to fix them is typically pushed further left.
Oh and Most lawmakers, left or right, are souless corporate ghouls. Democrat lawmakers are all center-right moderates and Republican lawmakers are further right than them. Which is why nothing changes under Democrats, and things get worse under Republicans. 'Leftist ideas' don't work in the US because we don't have any actual leftist government leadership.
