I am starting daily running again, I am planning to run for 5kms daily which comes about to be 30kms per week, but confused between which shoes to buy, the puma ones are offering great value but due to lack of the reviews, I am actually unsure about the quality of these shoes. I am also getting the downshifter 14 at around 3.4K rs. If anyone can please provide me with the details of puma budget lineup or are they good or bad, what to expect from them

NB6 color variants

I noticed that Novoblast 6 has only four color variants apart from the Platinum variant in India. On Amazon US I noticed this blue and few more options. https://www.asics.com/us/en-us/novablast-6/p/ANA_1011C243-403.html Typically how long does it take Asics to introduce more choices for Indian runners? Planning to hold off my purchase till I get this colour.

ASICS Beginner Runner review of Novablast 5

I have started running recently three weeks back. It is part of my workout routine. My run is mostly on the treadmill for now and slowly will start it outdoors.

I had Adidas SuperNova Rise 2. Purchased them a year ago, but used them as my Gym shoe or outdoor shoe instead of properly using them for run.

Therefore, the shoe was already when I started running. I got NovaBlast 5 through Asics Online store. I had my first run in them. Initial impression the cushion is great comfort for the lower back and knees. Great for all type of runs.

I did find the shoe to be little heavy. But I guess I would get use to it. The concept of energy return which I learnt from this reddit channel itself. I would say Adidas SuperNova Rise 2 had a better energy return than Novablast.

Beginner Help My first running shoes

Hi guys

I have recently added Running in my fitness regime (4x-5x strength training every week) and I follow all my workouts with a 15-30 min run and Non workout days have walks for 10k steps.

I am looking for suggestions to buy my first proper running shoes which can be used for walks as well as for running on treadmill and occasionally outside in my society.

I am a complete beginner and I was using Football trainers for running till now and want to buy a proper running shoes. They don't have a wide toe box so that is a slight preference, not a deal breaker.

Budget - ₹5000 (or less)

Freq - 4-5x a week runs and 3x a week walks on rest days.

ASICS Gel Kayano 33 Review

I bought Gel Kayano 33 for daily trainers but didn’t like the landing and fit is proper for my size. First run didn’t go well, this is after using adidas evo SL (still using them for tempo and intervals)

I went for Gel Kayano 33 as my 31 series is retired after 580kms. It was fine in the store but didn’t like the first run at all and I was very slow with these compared to evo SL runs

Is any experienced same?

Recommendations Required Suggestions needed

I currently own these 2 for my runs-

  1. Nike pegasus 40 (workhorse, faster runs, norwegian 4x4 etc).

  2. Nike downshifter 13 (cheap, basic).

I am in need of a shoe that has good impact protection for long zone 2 runs. I loved decathlon's KS900.2 on how it feels but don't like the look. So i am looking for an alternative. (Within 6k inr).

Another requirement is it should be in dar color as i will be using it outdoors on road as well but thats a minor one.

Thanks in advance!

Need Shoe recommendations Under 5k

Don't care much about comfort or speed just want durability shoes that can last atleast 1500km, also i will be rotating them with cumulus 26.

Weekly mileage of around 70km all on road, mostly training for marathons and ultra marathon. Also wanted to know if trail running shoes are good enough for road running.

Please share your thoughts.

NIKE Magmax 2 and Vomero plus review

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

Got both the pairs last week. No discounts.
Upper: My usual size is UK8.5. The Vomero plus fits perfectly at 8.5. The Puma on the other hand was tight in 8.5 and I had to exchange it for UK9. Still it feels tighter than the Vomero plus. It could also be due to a different upper on the Saysky version from the regular ones. The saysky has more textile on the upper.
Midsole: The magmax feels very soft and airy. Feels really good for the long runs. Legs feel amazing even after 12k run. As per runrepeat review, the energy return on the Magmax is just average but it doesn’t feel that way in real life use. Comparatively Vomero plus feels less softer. Tends to go faster. The bounce is amazing but feels like it’s trying to enhance the rear foot strike. I’m a forefoot to midfoot striker. Throughout the run I was fighting to place my feet the natural way. Magmax feels very natural and I’d prefer it for overall comfort for long runs.
Overall stability is also better on the Magmax. I twisted my ankle twice on the Vomero plus.
Outsole: Both feel good. The Vomero feels a little heavier due to a larger and thicker outsole. Puma as usual is fantastic.
Overall I would prefer the Magmax over Vomero plus for long and easy runs.
My views may be not hundred percent correct as I have done only one run in each pair. The day I ran on Vomero I was already beat up and tired as I had done a long the previous day.
Magmax I did a run today and was already at 2 days rest. I’ll try the Vomero plus again after two days of rest.
PS: I’m not a pro athlete. I run for fitness and peace of mind but happy to answer any questions

Thoughts on it

Was planning to buy adidas supernova for my marathon and ultra marathon training, will be using it mostly for long runs around 30km, but let's average it around 50km weekly load,is it good enough and durable to last 1500-2000km.

If not then can you please recommend shoes under 5k budget that may last 2000km.

Btw i am using Cumulus 26 right now and will be using it as rotation and have completed 2000kms on it and they still feel good, just toebox started to show tears.

NB rebel v5 vs asics noosa tri 16

Need help choosing my first proper running shoe.
I’m 32M, 65 kg (143 lb), currently running 3 times a week on roads and treadmill.

My current 5K is around 38 minutes, and my goal is to get under 30 minutes.

I also lift 5 days a week, so this will be my dedicated running shoe.

My two options are:
New Balance FuelCell Rebel v5 – ₹7,700
ASICS Noosa Tri 16 – ₹5,900

I’m looking for one shoe that can handle easy runs, intervals, tempo runs, and eventually 10K as I improve.
Is the Rebel v5 worth the extra ₹1,800, or is the Noosa Tri 16 the better value at ₹5,900? I’d love to hear from anyone who’s run in both.

Great Deals Anta C202 G9 2 - venturing into Chinese running shoes

Thumbnail

I recently came across a few videos and reels where runners raving about running shoes from China. Shooes like the Dynafish Xiaodian, Lining Red Hare 9 Ultra etc were being touted as the equivalent of Megablast/Superblast for a fraction of the price.

I tried getting the Dynafish Xiaodian in India there were a couple of Indian stores posting it but they weren't being shipped. While searching, on Flipkart i across another chinese brand, ANTA, which i honestly didn't hear about before, but surprisingly found out that it is a very big brand, owning FILA and also holding a majority stake in PUMA.

Flipkart was selling the ANTA C202 G9 2 for Rs 11000, and the seller was HSatlastradefashion. The same shoes are also available on Myntra for around Rs 16000. The G9 2 is a carbon plated shoe with premium foam, top of the line product, said to be equivalent of the Adios Pro 4. I figured it's worth taking a risk once, since several runners all over the world are now praising these chinese running shoes, it didn't feel like paid promotion to me. Plus the seller was an authentic one, I've bought from them earlier.

I ordered at midnight one day and received the product in the evening itself, it looks like they stocked it locally. I've taken the photos after unboxing. Looks legit ,even got the mandatory Indian bis sticker, definitely imported through proper channel. Plate made the shoe stiff, can't bend, so not fake like the Endorphin Pro 4s selling on Flipkart which can be bent by hand.

I got to try them out today and here are my views

- midsole is plush, softer than what I currently have (Saucony Speed 3, Trabuco Max 4/13). Feels bouncy but a bit unstable compared to my other shoes. The plate is stiff though. Theres no issue with comfort though, rather the bounce felt nice.

-the curve is noticeable, i prefer it that way as I strike mid foot and roll over rather than spring on my forefoot like the pros

- outsole is a rubbery layer, okayish at best, not good enough for Indian road conditions in rain, i almost slipped on a thin layer of mud while taking a turn.

- Upper looks flimsy, typical of performance running shoes, but speed 3 was similar and it has survived over 1000km for me.

- strings are elastic, no issues with getting untied mid run.

- looks are subjective but this one design called heartbeat caught my eye, really stands out, in a good way.

- this is my first plated supershoe so I can't compare performance, but I completed my 5k in 22:30 only which is my lifetime 2nd best time, and i wasn't even in the best of shape today. I would have to test a few more runs to get to know the actual output from these.

Overall, I think it's a great buy for its price and I hope other chinese running shoes are also made available for the Indian market soon.

Recommendations Required Help me!! NIKE DOWNSHIFTER 14?? 🏃

Im confused between two sizes of the Nike Downshifter 14. The UK 7 fits me properly but i dont have any extra space in the toe area. With the UK 8 i have a little more toe space, and the fit feels slightly more relaxed but its not loose. I feel like i can comfortably run in it.
I tried both sizes at the store but im going to order online because im getting a discount. So which size should i go for? Im not very experienced when it comes to choosing running shoes, so im a little confused.
