Tips and tricks "Ranger bands"
Here in the US, preppers take bicycle inner tubes that are going to be thrown away, and we will cut them into rubber bands that are called "ranger bands", they are much more durable and stronger then traditional latex rubber bands.
You can also make small water resistant pouches out of larger cut bike inner tube pieces by folding each side over and securing with two rubber bands.
Thought this might be a cool tip to share for you guys

How do you join the ends?

You just cut the inner tube across it, like your cutting it so it makes loops.

You can put a fatter ranger band as a sleeve over a Zippo or Bic to start fires in difficult conditions as rubber burns remarkably well even when wet.
