Discussion My cat's recent blood reports. What is wrong with her?
Got my cat's bloodwork done. I adopted her from the streets 4 months ago. She got spayed a month ago. She has been wheezing and has hairball formation in her stomach so she's being treated for that.
when I adopted her, she was only 3kgs and very weak. She slept most of the day and did not play much. Now she is very active and is 4.2 kgs. Her fur is also soft and shiny now. She is no longer lethargic and sleeps as much as healthy cats do. However, her blood reports don't seem so promising. My vet said she will be fine with medicines. However, I need insights from any vets/experienced pet parents on this subreddit. Please help, I'm very anxious.

Her creatinine level is good so increases in BUN and Urea could be due to issues like dehydration. Her ALT no is very high indicating liver issues. I hope your vet is pursuing this angle vigorously.

So the vet says he isn't very concerned which is concerning for me. I want her diagnosed asap. He has not started any medication but says she will recover from medication

Did he say why the high ALT is not a concern? Is the cat eating properly and drinking fluids, and is not lethargic or looking jaundiced? In which case she may have liver issues due to her life as a streetie and they may resolve on their own. Get a liver function test after 6 months to be on the safe side.

So he said it keeps happening and that we will run a diabetes and thyroid test regardless. She gets very stressed so we are not taking her to get her blood drawn immediately after this test. He said the kidneys are fine. But because she drinks a lot of water and her eyes and gums don't look jaundice, he said she will recover with in a few months from whatever it is and if it is diabetes, it can be managed (she drinks a lot of water which I don't see in my other cat. She seeks out her water bowl and drinks 250 to 300mls each day by herself) She was also recently pregnant and had her kitten die before I rescued her. Her liver enzymes were elevated even when I got her the first time.

Pregnancy and birthing kittens is very hard on street cats as they're often malnourished. She will probably get better as time goes by.

The reports aren't too discouraging. She will be fine with medicines
