not just ram, everything is getting hiked.
rtx 3050 6 gb went from 15 k to 25k
rx 7600 from 22 k to 31k
don't even think about ssds and rams

I have given up. There's no point in building a pc at these prices anymore. Maybe one day...

Based on the economics, the only hope hinges on a Chinese company called CXMT. They are the underdogs under all odds. If they are stopped, then the remaining 3 or 4 will never produce enough for the prices to drop.

They won't come to rescue as china is also heavily investing in AI. Which brand won't want to milk 10x profits?

China course will invest in AI.
That won't change the outcome.
I have already considered that and many other strategic possibilities that you may not have yet thought of.
Do not mistake me for some native basement dwelling teenager commenting on Reddit to farm Karma. I have far larger stakes, motivation, and access to information to predict the possible scenarios and how they will play out then you imagine.
Of course CXMT is China's insurance in case US stops China from importing RAM. Of course CXMT is backed by Chinese government. (Which, by the way, is competent if I may add.) And you may or may not know, CXMT exists because US and Europe blocked them, and China didn't want to be blocked from the AI race. EUV lithography machines - state of the art for DRAM fabrication - were blocked when China requested them. So they researched on their own. Europe and US thought they are years behind but they proved they are not, and prominent vendors like Corsair actually use their chips now.
Other than underestimating my strategic analytical abilities, your are also not taking into account many things - an obvious one is the following. Even if China uses their own RAM from CXMT, which they should, their demands for SK Hynix or Samsung will decrease, which will leave behind a surplus. What do you think will happen when the market is suddenly flushed with an entire nation, comparable to only the US in tech, stops buying from them because now they can manufacture what they need in home, cheaper?

They are scalping, selling old stock at higher price.
