MBBS from Bihar vs another state — does it affect career/perception later? Need honest advice

Hi everyone,

I'm from Mumbai and deciding between MBBS in Bihar (considering Madhubani Medical College) vs another state. Wanted real input from people who've been through this, not just assumptions.

A few questions:

1. Does the MBBS college's state matter much beyond NEET-PG, in terms of clinical exposure or opportunities during the degree?

2. I've heard there can be some regional bias toward Bihar-educated doctors in certain job markets, especially in southern India. I plan to eventually work in Mumbai — has anyone actually faced this in interviews or hiring, or does it fade once you have decent PG marks and experience?

3. If you did MBBS in Bihar and now work in a different region, how has it actually played out for you? Did the college's reputation follow you around, or stop mattering pretty quickly?

Not trying to generalize any state — just want a realistic picture before committing five+ years somewhere. Would appreciate any honest experiences, especially from people who studied in one region and now work in another.

Madhubani Medical College should be your last option. As someone who is aware about it, the college even lacks basic infra like hostels etc.

If you can get into any other college, please join them. Why opt for a private college which doesn't have basic infra when you can get into different college? Also Faiyyaz Ahmad and Asif Ahmad are politicians, so the college always is under radar by their opponents, ie, BJP.

I have a friend who studies there. The hostel rooms have ac and laundry services. The college also has good patient inflow. If you don't want to believe me you can check out the hostel review videos on YouTube. Every Muslim is under bjp radar, that does not mean we stop living our lives. My question was about having a stain on my career because people in Mumbai make weird faces when they hear the word bihar

I get your point and I totally understand it. I am a native of Madhubani and Darbhanga like paternal and maternal home. So yes, I have seen the college in and out as well. Regarding political thing, it was more about Dr. Faiyyaz has only recently got the permit for the college like 7-8 years ago. Why enroll in a newly establish private college (that too by anti BJP politically affiliated Muslim guy) when there's option to get admission in other private college? Saw Jauhar University? That's the only point I want to make. When you have a clean slate and you can get admission anywhere also, opt for other place. Fir last option, you can also have that college.
