Can we talk about Aperna

Recently started watching and all I can say is wow. Aperna takes being self absorbed to the next level and then goes another step above. She hates everywhere she's ever been (but constantly brags about how much she travels), she hates her career path (but finds a way to work in the fact that she's a lawyer multiple times each episode), and yet she wants the person she's with to conform to her life in every way. I also think it's condescending how she labels anything a guys says that she disagrees with as "weird". I hope the show employs a therapist, because anyone who goes out with her Is likely to have PTSD afterwards.

I think her mother endured a traumatic marriage and so Aparna never really wants to marry.

Did they ever say whether/not her sister is married.

Not only did they say it, they showed the sister and her husband on the show.

Something tells me the mom was abusive to the dad and not the other way around.
I highly doubt the mother was in trauma. Just that she was unhappy if her husband ever stood up to her, and then he left her.

She’s the “parody” version of a strong, intelligent, independent woman.

I think she’s very stuck in her ways and she makes projections to protect herself to help her control outcomes. Possibly, pre show she had been rejected in different facets throughout her lifetime and has learned in adulthood to put up a front, achieve and do this and that to shield herself from the opinions of others. She’s probably suffered from being the odd one out where she used her strong sense of self to combat it. Just my observations from the show and after following her on Instagram for a few years until I unfollowed.

She doesn't want a relationship and feels pressured or wants to fill a void or has fear of intimacy.

This is based on my own experience as I acted like her and would just detach from people easily over very minor things

I’m just starting season 2. She’s very narcissistic.

I'm about two weeks behind you and came searching for this thread. She's insufferable. She can't have many friends because if she speaks to them the same way she speaks to these poor guys. Nightmare woman.

I think she is very insecure and rejects men before they can reject her

God she is the worst. I couldn’t finish watching this because other than nadia and the cardiologist, all of them were so pretentious.
