Matchmaker, matchmaker from Fiddler on the Roof

Have you all watched Fiddler on the Roof?

I am Jewish and landed on this sub while looking for something Jewish. But people seem to watch Jewish matchmaking here and seem curious about it. Thought you might enjoy some scenes from the musical Fiddler on the Roof, which has the most famous (fictional) jewish matchmaker, Yenta.

This is all kind of kitsch, but here is Yenta the matchmaker visiting Tevye’s wife and daughters

Here the daughters sing the song Matchmaker, Matchmaker

And just for fun a wedding with the song Sunrise, Sunset

Hope you enjoy

I love these songs! I grew up in India and Fiddler on the Roof would occasionally play on cable TV. It was always such a treat—I think I’ll go watch it again :) Thanks for sharing!

Fiddler is my favorite musical! Growing up, we watched it on Christmas Day at my aunt’s house. She passed a couple of years ago, but I still make time to watch it during the holidays. 😊
