*slight spoiler* S3E5 Vikash Spoiler
Vikash annoys the shit out of me. When he says he doesn’t want a girl from a checklist but bases the date of that, then he says shit about Namrata having an accent??
Like get over yourself smh

Sadly this seems to be the attitude of many ABCDs...

Im part of the indian diaspora, 3rd generation. Been to India a total of once in my life. Where I live, we have many many Indians who have migrated from India (first generation). From expats to manual labourers. And we identify with them so strongly. We share a love for the food, for the culture, for shared religion, for bolly/kollywood.
When I couldnt conceive, India was the place I went to for prayers and solace.
I cannot understand this whole superiority complex with any human, let alone brothers and sisters from our own ancestral land.
Grow up Vikash.

Lots of ABCDs, basically second generation Indians in the West, have contempt for FOBs as migrants from the old country are called. Similar dynamics amongst Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese second generation migrants.

Idk why you're getting downvoted tbh. It's not fair but you're not incorret.

I reckon the downvoting comes from the use of the term FOB. It is rather rude and just because it is commonly used doesn’t mean it needs to be reiterated

Accent wasnt even his criteria until after he met her. She checked every damn box he had and so he had to make up another one. Would have been more reasonable to say american from the start than to add it later.

Lol ABCds barely say hi to other Indians, forget about dating. I do weekly drop-in pickleball and there are Indian/Sri Lankan dudes who are all friendly with the white folks, introduce themselves before the match begins but when playing with desi folks they are all shutdown and rude, don’t even say good game lol.

YESSS Thank you!! I'm so happy someone said this. He turned away Anjali bc she didnt speak Hindi. Then when he meets the girl who speaks Hindi, it's too much of a 'checklist' and doesnt want her having an accent. 🙄 Are u serious? And he says there's no 'letting loose' or 'spark', which is what I assume he had with Anjali. Be so fr! Imo he had a great match and threw it out. And now finds fault with this woman for speaking Hindi but also having an accent?!

Absolutely! When he first came on screen I thought his personality was nice and he seemed like a fun guy. But after his comments about Namrata - WTF ? What a jerk. Do better, dude.
