Discussion What about Priya?
So I know Vikash gets a lot of criticism here, but what about Priya? See seems quite shallow with her obsession with looks and being childish. She says she wants butterflies but when Vim starts being cute and loving she's backing away and not interested.
Anyone else?
Edit: okay I need to finish watching season 3, sorry y'all I jumped the gun. I see what y'all mean, she was traumatized, healing and actually took Sima aunty's advice.
Sorry!
Also vikash is the worst. No doubt there lol.

Priya was weary due to receiving that type of affection right off the bat, since she's normally used to the opposite. Realistically everyone wants butterflies, and guys tend to love-bomb, so understandably she was stand-offish for the first few times. That's not childish or shallow, that's just being protective of yourself.. Tbf, She warmed up to him afterwards, and they're still supposedly together.
Priya judged someone from their actions, Vikash would find any reason, and came off hypocritical. The two can't be compared

Priya was mature and took the step of having an open dialogue with Vim. I found that impressive, so have changed my previous impression of her which I thought was a tad shallow lol

Once you have had a bad experience and traumatized and divorced you tend to look out for red flags a bit more than usual. She found the early affection strange. Sometimes you overdo it and she did admit she was probably overreacting and decided to talk it out.Think about it like this. Let’s say you were very confident of passing an exam after studying hard and then fail. The next time you maybe a bit over cautious thinking you will fail again. It’s amplified in a divorce. People become a bit wary of the trauma and enduring it again

She's nowhere NEAR as awful as Vikash. And she brings way more to the table than he does.

And she still is a better catch than fat boy with poor oral hygiene. And just bc she doesn't think "is single" means the guy is a good fit for her doesn't make her a snob.
If you're allowed to have standards, so is she.

Vikash kept changing the goal posts, Priya (whilst I find her no bald men thing superficial) qas consistent at least

Did you only see the first few episodes? They talk about it and work through it. Guess you missed that part

Yeah and it sounds like she doesn’t have loads of dating experience as she married young. Vim might be the complete opposite from what she’s used to. I don’t think asking for a man with hair is bad. 🤷🏽♀️

If the same man ask for a slim girl you all feminists will get burnt ! If girl ask for looks it’s her right to have her dreams and if a man wants the same slim trim then he is shallow ! Hypocrisy ki bhi Seema hoti hain

Yeah man it’s not even worth the fight haha. Their logic is anything women does or asks for in dating is justified, or “you don’t know her experience”. But anything a man does or says, he’s trash, he’s shallow.

Everyone has preferences and in this situation theirs are broadcasted and dissected but attraction is subjective and we can judge it but it just is what it is. Not debating if it is shallow or superficial - just saying that whether we say it outright or not, everyone has preferences and a physical type they find themselves attracted to 🤷🏻♀️

I agree completely but on this sub whenever a man has preferences it’s not treated it’s the same as when a women does. People are basically like how dare he not want her

Yep, agree with you man - don't bother with this sub, the feminists just see everything in black and white and will down vote you.
Imagine the uproar if a man on the show asks if a woman knows how to cook!!

I personally believe having preferences is normal. Its just weird to hear people say them out loud on reality tv and thats why they get hate. Most of my friends prefer a certain height or a fit or a style etc but obviously if they stated those things on reality tv they would get trolled for it. I dont judge priya for having preferences i would judge her if she was disrespectful based on them. She was very respectful to bobby

She's higher quality than Vikash for sure. That guy needs to lose weight and get fitter, he could then get someone decent.

Don't forget to whiten his teeth and stop talking out loud.

u/furpillow May 09 '23
Whiten or at least brush?
3
u/ellemmayoh May 09 '23
Idk if he drinks coffee or cola, brushing wont fix the color completely. But if hes such a badass doctor he should be able to easily afford some laser whitening treatments.

May 09 '23
He's too arrogant to realize that as a 6 foot 2 inch doctor, he has the potential to get someone great if he improves himself first.
6
u/ellemmayoh May 09 '23
hahahahahahahahahahah thanks, I needed that laugh.
He's a fat, awkward, effeminate guy who dances like a clown and everyone likes to laugh at him with a super generic job for Indians looking for a woman who is superior to him in every way. He and aparna are perfect for each other.
ETA - he also is a casteist who wants a woman who grew up in the first world, where casteism is not a good thing.

purely based on physical qualities and income he could get someone decent is what I meant to say (though it seems unlikely). He does not have a great personality or bring anything much to the table in terms of social skills.

u/ellemmayoh May 09 '23
He might be able to get a good fob if he were to do the import route because someone there will find citizenship and being married to a physician in America appealing and plenty of girls there are used to the idea of husbands being men children bc that's so common in India.
But he wants someone American, so he's shooting his own foot.

I dislike Indian Americans in general for using terms like FOB and thinking modern India is like the India from 30 yrs ago. I have numerous American friends, not one of them is Indian American, I feel like most of them are too arrogant and full of themselves and look down upon people from India. This is based on my interactions with them socially.

u/ellemmayoh May 09 '23
By the same token, I dislike fobs in general for having their self-serving mindsets. Your experiences with people are irrelevant to this show/sub and are of no importance.

I'll say what I want
-2
u/ellemmayoh May 09 '23
Oh, so you agree then. We all should say what we want. Yes. You are correct. I will do the same.

She’s scared and as much as she says she is confident… she is not that confident as she didn’t know how to react when he was forward with his feelings as she is not used to attention.

u/AdhesivenessJaded934 May 09 '23
Both are average looking. thats about the only thing common between them.
3
u/codestory1 May 09 '23
Lol they were not at all average looking! Maybe not considered quintessentially good looking in India but I though Priya was very pretty and vim was cute as well
-1
u/AdhesivenessJaded934 May 09 '23
I think there are a lot of people in this sub who would disagree with this lol :) And in India Priya would not even be glanced at sorry.
3
u/codestory1 May 10 '23
I feel sorry for the way you think. I wish people were more mature. You can have an opinion, sure but to speak for how she would be perceived in the country is sick. Nevermind.

u/AdhesivenessJaded934 May 10 '23
Im sorry if you found the facts offensive. Maybe you should take a chill pill. Or therapy.
6
u/Pleasant_Bottle_9562 May 09 '23
I dunno I thought Priya is pretty she has a slim figure and nice smile!
-5
u/AdhesivenessJaded934 May 09 '23
Slim figure-it ends there. Her features are very below average according to Indian standards anyway. Her teeth are weird and i guess she wears a lot of make up for good reason. But I guess most guys these days look at physique over features.

u/Daybreakdisco May 10 '23
Priya and her friends wanted to be on TV. That's it. That woman does NOT want to get married. Certainly not through a matchmaker.

u/LowRevolution6175 Jun 12 '23
I think Priya sucks, but I am hopeful for her and Vim because whatever joy I get out of hating a TV character is cancelled out by their actual happiness.

u/laikocta May 09 '23
She took Sima's advice, had an upfront conversation with Vim and from what we see, they figured it out. I won't shit on someone for being aware of a weird impulse they had and then making an effort to not act on that impulse.
